EARTHQUAKE DAMAGE-KINSLEY TERRACE,CLIFTON HILL,SUMNER
Snowboarding at Mount Clifton
It snowed heavily overnight and we woke on July 25 to around 20 cm of fresh snow.
My parents decided to get their snowboards out and ride down Clifton Hill for the first time in 28 years of living there.
The songs is by a New Zealand artist called Rhian Sheehan, and is called 'Places Between'.
148h Panorama Road, Sumner, Christchurch
Above Christchurch on Clifton Hill with a view that can only be described as panoramic, is this exquisite masterpiece of a home. Away from the world and set amongst a picturesque native environment. Once inside the contemporary home, the view is breathtaking, capturing the ocean, estuary and a native oasis of bush. Conceptualised by prominent architect Peter Bevan, the home was designed to a very specific brief. Above all else, the main requirement was to maximise energy efficiency and thermal mass, meaning the house has been planned and situated for heightened passive gain. The internal configuration of the house will appeal to a wide audience, from large families to couples requiring work from home options. Please phone for a private appointment to view this once in a lifetime property.

A beautiful day in the bay, just before flying back to Auckland from Napier we had a short window to check out the craggy ranges and Te Mata Peak.

5 Tirohanga Lane, Scarborough, Sumner, Christchurch City, Canterbury
Anyone for tennis? If you thought Scarborough was the pinnacle of Christchurch living, you were right. Now imagine what the pinnacle of Scarborough living feels and looks like!
Situated at the top of North-Eastern Scarborough, the positioning of this prized section couldn't be more appealing if you are looking to escape the city, and live in what feels like another world where breathtaking ever-changing views are yours to keep.
The clincher for this property, other than the quarter share in a tennis court, is the set of architecturally rendered sketches for an absolutely stunning home. With the design already covered off, all you need to do now is choose a builder and start your dream project.
The benefits of this location are so many, and upon setting foot on the land you will discover those that only being there can reveal to the senses... the smell of the ocean, birdsong, sunrise through your bedroom window... just to name a few. A five minute drive down the hill to Sumner puts you back in civilisation, with the beaches, cafe's, restaurants and shops there to enjoy as you need. Christchurch City is only another 15-20 minutes away, meaning either work or social life is so easy to connect with. Taylors Mistake, the hidden gem of Canterbury beaches, is either a walk or two minute drive down the hill, and is also the gateway to so many walking and biking tracks in the Sumner and Godley Head area. The mixture of options either energetic, or purely relaxing simply can't be rivalled.
The only way to truly understand this opportunity is to set foot on the land, and discover for yourself. Contact Joy Butel today to arrange a viewing.

Tribute to Sumner
A little video tribute in support of the earthquake recovery effort in Sumner, Christchurch - My hometown between December 2005 and March 2011. I've tagged a few of you who I thought might like to see it. It's only a couple of minutes long... I miss that place, it'll never be the same again.
