A 3 Day Trekking Tour in Thailand | My #1 Travel Experience
New: NYC GUIDE | CHINATOWN: Your PERFECT One-Day Itinerary
--~--
In a year of traveling the world, this was my #1 travel experience. If you ever get the opportunity to do a 3 day trek through the mountains of Thailand DO NOT MISS IT!
Book here:
I did this trek with my parents, Luis, and a group of like minded adventurers. Each night we stayed with a different tribe and learned about their culture. We fed elephants, rode on bamboo rafts, and hiked through the mountains. Doing this taught me that you don't need a lot of money to be happy. The people in the mountains don't have electricity, cell phones, or flat screen TVs. Yet, they are happier than many people living in the modern world. In the end, happiness is not about how much your salary is, it's about surrounding yourself with good people, enjoying tasty food, and staying healthy.

EPIC Jungle Trek in Chiang Mai (Untouched Thailand Tour)
After leaving Cambodia for the last time, Stephanie and I headed to Chiang Mai! It wasn't my first time in Thailand, but it was my first time in Chiang Mai. We decided to get out of the city on our first day on the highly rated Untouched Thailand Tour, which took us to the Long Neck Karen tribe, Doi Inthanon park to see the Royal Twin Pagodas, and then on a memorable hike through waterfalls, orchids and rice fields where our tour guide entertained us along the way with all his nature knowledge. Wth rain predictions all day, it held out just long enough, and we were really lucky!

DOI INTHANON DAY TRIP from CHIANG MAI // Wonderful Eco Tours // Full-Time Travel
Finding a day trip package that DOESN’T involve elephants or tigers is difficult in Chiang Mai! Fortunately we found Wonderful Eco Tours which offer a one day trekking adventure through Doi Inthanon National Park. This day trip doesn’t involve any animals but includes vegan food for lunch and yummy local coffee! They also pick you up (and drop you off) right at your hotel. The price was reasonable as well at 1400 baht per person. Just book online and pay in cash when they pick you up.
Check out Wonderful Eco Tours (we did ‘One Day Doi Inthanon National Park + Trekking’):

Three days in Chiang Mai - Temples, Tigers and Trekking
A comprehensive trip report from a 3 and a half day trip to Chiang Mai, Thailand
Chiang Mai - Cinematic Travel Film // Doi Inthanon National Park, Thailand
Why you should visit Chiang Mai?
Doi Inthanon National Park in Chiang Mai unexpectedly redefined the word “beautiful” for us. Doi Inthanon National Park ranges between 800 and 2565 meters with the highest peak which is the highest mountain in Thailand. If there is one place you have to go while in the Doi Inthanon National Park, it’s the Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail.
Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail requires a guide at a price of 200 baht per group. But we quickly warmed up to the man who led us, a local Hmong hill tribesman who undoubtedly cared for and respected the mountain. Also Wachirathan Falls and Mae Klang Waterfalls are one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Doi Inthanon.
If you ever think of visiting Doi Inthanon anytime during the year, definitely plan for setting up a tent in the campsite.

Amazing Doi Suthep [Mountain Tour] in Chiang Mai, Thailand (2019)
Doi Suthep is a mountain pretty close to Chiang Mai, Northern Thailand's pearl. Actually, it's so close to the western city border that you can just rent a bicycle and go there from almost any point in Chiang Mai. And that's exactly what we did on this way too hot Tuesday morning. Bike rental shops in Chiang Mai are as hard to find as sausages on Thailand's street food stalls and have pretty decent bikes at least compared to the bikes we rented in Cambodia. But I guess this is what you have to do while traveling around southeast Asia renting a motorbike or at least a bicycle to gain independence from tuk-tuk and taxi drivers trying to rip you off. Anyway, it was time for us to join the hair-raising traffic of Thailand's streets as we had chickened out on that so far on our around the world trip. But enough about getting there. When you arrive you will be pleased to see that Doi Suthep's waterfall is at the very beginning of the mountain, so no exhausting mountain stage is needed to get there. We left our bikes, picked up some ice cream and hiked to the waterfall which is a pretty short hike (not sure if you should even call it a hike). Behind the waterfall is a trail called the monks' trail, ist a short but scenic way a little higher up to the mountain. In the end, you will find sort of a pond created by the river leading into the waterfall. Nice opportunity to cool your feet off before going back to physical activity and bike the rest of the mountain. But well, we didn't do that, we are on vacation not in a boot camp.

Thailand's dreamy north has national parks galore and tons of amazing day trips to take from Chiang Mai. Our first stop on our hidden Thailand road trip is Doi Inthanon National Park, Thailand's tallest peak.
On the way, we stop by Pha Chor, an orange canyon located about an hour outside of the city. It's an easy, perfect little pit stop before we continue on our way to the Mae Ya Waterfall.
Though Doi Inthanon National Park has many waterfalls, Mae Ya is easily one of the most beautiful, the largest, and the most impressive. It's also the least crowded since it takes an extra 40 minutes to drive to from the park entrance, but it's worth it!
Finally, we finish at the King and Queen Pagodas near the top of Doi Inthanon after a gorgeous drive.
Check out the associated blog post for more information on the beautiful hidden parts of Thailand, accessible by day trip from Chiang Mai.

Epic Climb, Summit Of Doi Suthep, Chiang Mai Thailand Cycling Vlog 34 (HD) (GoPro)
My longest climb ever going up Doi Suthep, Chiang Mai, Thailand, 12 miles 4,050 feet in elevation gain. I went past the temple which is around the 6 mile mark, that part was not too bad average 6 percent grade, but past the temple the grade goes up to an average of 9 percent. My first time up, on a rental bike and I did not have cycling shoes, so I took my time. Had a great time suffering. The downhill ride was a lot of fun. Strava -
Past the summit and down a short dirt road. I found the ruins of San Ku. The ruins are over 700 years old. The inscription reads: In 1983, the Fine Arts Department began excavation and renovation work at San Ku at the wish of H.R.H. Maha Chakri Sirindhorn who had learned that this ancient historical site had been looted and savaged for a long time.
Before restoration, San Ku was an ancient earth mound densely covered by trees. When earth and soil were removed, remains of chedi and wihan bases appeared. Exploration of the pit in the middle of the chedi base revealed many important historical artifacts. It was estimated that San Ku dates from 13th century A.D.

Mylungpuppy is the channel of musician Ron Anderson.
I have been making avant-music for over forty years in a number of different projects; PAK, The Molecules, RonRuins, numerous collaborations and solo. I combine composition and improvisation exploring the regions where they intersect. Sometimes my music is brutal, but I’m not afraid of melody, in general my work is pretty much out there.
The main focus of my channel is music, but I also make vlogs on various subjects, cycling, touring and traveling, vegan food, rare vinyl LPs, audio field recordings, etc. Because not everyone is going to be interested in all the subjects covered on this channel, I have made playlists so you do not have to search through videos to find what you are looking for.
I try to answer questions and respond to as many comments as I can, any and all feedback from you is welcome.
I'm trying to make at least one or two new videos a week.

Trekking Through Northern Thailand: A Traveller's Story
???????? ‘Trekking Through Northern Thailand: A Traveller’s Story’, is the latest adventure brought to you by the TourRadar team that follows the journey of Phoebe and Matt from Little Grey Box. Watch along as Phoebe and Matt document their experience on what it’s really like to embark on a once-in-a-lifetime trekking tour with G Adventures. If you’re wondering what it’s like to grab your trekking poles while travelling to remote villages, this is your chance to find out everything you need to know.
Are you wondering what you might eat during a trek in Northern Thailand? From sugar cane to sticky rice wrapped in banana leaves or potato soup, you might be surprised that your next great culinary experiences lie in the hilltops of Northern Thailand. Adding to the authenticity of the adventure, the best (and only) way to share a meal is in the traditional way of sitting cross-legged on the floor.
You might spend days hiking, but in between stepping one foot in front of another, there is still time for dressing up in traditional garments, learning about local crafts from skilled artisans, exploring an ancient cave or sitting down for a freshly made fruit shake from a local vendor.
By the end of this journey, as shown by Phoebe and Matt, we’re sure you’ll be left feeling inspired and ready to book your next trekking tour. It might not be an easy journey, but it’s most certainly a rewarding one.

Chiang Mai Bike tour (Doi Suthep, Old Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai University & Indian food)

Exploring Chiang Mai on Frank's bike was fun. Riding in the Side-streets and major roads of the city was a good experience.
I went inside the Chiang Mai University campus and loved its ambience. It was different from Delhi University, but more close to JNU or Jawaharlal Nehru Univerisity, New Delhi, where I graduated from. Being a Mass Communication graduate, I thought of visiting the Mass Comm department in this university. I did the same when I stayed in the Dhaka university campus in 2015. CMU's Journalism department reminded me of my diploma days in Indian Institute of Mass Communication - IIMC, New Delhi.
Later I visited the walled city of Chiang Mai which is a major tourist attraction. I just kept on cycling in the streets of the old Chiang Mai city. Later on I went to Doi Suthep and saw the mesmerising view of Chiang Mai city from the hill top.
Also, watch this video to know where is a restaurant for Indian food.

Climbing the Sticky Waterfalls - CHIANG MAI Thailand
One of the most unique waterfalls in the world would have to be Bua Tong Waterfall otherwise known as the Sticky Waterfalls. There is a mineral deposit in the water that makes the rocks grippy and not slippery at all. As there is no algae or slime on the rocks, they are perfect to climb up. There is even rope in some of the steep areas to help with the climb.
Bua Tong Waterfall is about 60kms north of the Old City, Chiang Mai. There is so much beautiful scenery along the way too.

8Adventures Trekking Tours Chiang Mai, Thailand
Trekking just outside Chiang Mai Thailand. Peaks or waterfalls, casual for the family or challenging for the enthusiast we have a trek that will fit your needs. Stay overnight in a remote village in our bamboo villa or just make it a day trip out of it lots of fun for all.
Climbing Doi Luang Chiang Dao - Thailand's 3rd Highest Mountain
Trekking up Doi Luang Chiang Dao (ดอยหลวงเชียงดาว), Thailand's 3rd-highest mountain, north of Chiang Mai.
Our recorded GPS track for this route can be viewed and downloaded from or
The night before the trek we stayed at the Chiang Dao national park headquarters, camping on the floor of their meeting room. We were driven to Den Ya Kat by 4WD. On the first day we hiked up to the large campsite, Ao Salung below the summit. We set up camp there then hiked up to the summit of Doi Luang Chiang Dao for the sunset.
The following morning we hiked in the dark up to Kew Lom Tai for the sunrise. Then we packed up camp, hiked down to Pang Wua where we were picked up and driven back to the national park office.
This is a very popular bucket list hike for a lot of Thais. We did it on a weekend in mid-January and there were about 300 people up the mountain, even though I've heard it's supposed to be limited to 150. Many of the hikers seemed ill-prepared and in inappropriate footwear. The summit was a photo-frenzy, the money shot being holding the Thai flag. Nevertheless it was fun, and a good community spirit, but go mid-week if you want to avoid the crowds.
We wanted to do this independently but it would be very difficult to do so. The national park and commercial trekking companies have it tied up. There are checkpoints on the the roads to the start. However it was nice to go along with it and have a porter to carry some of our gear.
The first part of this video, and the part at the summit were shot with a DJI OSMO camera. It's internal microphone was responsible for the terrible audio which I have done my best to salvage. The other parts were shot with a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 phone.
