207m Chimney Climb | Dublin, Ireland
*Climbing the famous Poolbeg Chimneys* I was on a trip to Ireland and I went to Dublin. I wanted to visit this amazing place and climb the famous chimneys in Dublin. I went out to the old and abandoned place one day, climbed over fences, jumped over walls and explored this awesome place. The scenery was amazing and I will never forget it. It took me a while to get up the 200meter chimney and I was concerned about getting busted because I did it an afternoon. I could easily be seen whilst I was climbing. The chimneys are not in use, but there is another part of the area which is. So there were security guards out there. I performed the climb without the use of safety equipment of any kind. - Oliver

Kilkenny Wicklow Mountains & Glendalough 1 Day Tour
Discover the magic of medieval Kilkenny, the beauty of Glendalough & the stunning Wicklow Mountains on our day tour from Dublin. For more information or to book this tour visit
Travel with us to the Medieval Capital of Ireland - THE MEDIEVAL CITY OF KILKENNY.
Explore the famous 12th century Kilkenny Castle majestically located on the banks of the River Nore. Kilkenny is the craft capital of Ireland, visit the famous Kilkenny Art & Design Centre and appreciate the tradition of arts and crafts in Ireland. In the courtyard, you can see these craftspeople at work. Goldsmiths, Sculptors, Painters and many more, these craftsmen and women are some of the most recognised artists in Ireland.
Stroll around its narrow cobbled streets, why not visit Ireland’s oldest brewery Saint Frances Brewery founded in the 14th century. Rothe House a magnificent example of a wealthy silk merchants house built in 1594. The house contains multiple medieval exhibits with so many priceless Viking artefacts. The medieval gardens are kept to period growing examples of plants and vegetables of the era such as Gortahok cabbage and blood of the Boyne apples. Take lunch in any of the many bistros and artisan cafes.
While in Kilkenny City you have the option of combining into your visit a trip to the historical Dunmore Caves. It is a place where myth & history blend. Dunmore is the site of the worst Viking massacre in Irish history (928AD). Explore the cave and its exhibits which are packed with many treasures and archaeological finds. The guides make it a magical experience, particularly when on some occasions there is a live tin whistle rendition in the bowels of the cave. The visit to the caves is entirely your choice on the day, the price of which is included in the ticket.
After lunch, we travel through the county of Carlow into the Wild and Rugged Wicklow Mountains. The landscape will change from lush green rich pasture with gentle valleys to the dramatic, the breathtaking ancient glacial valleys of the Wicklow Gap. Feast your eyes on the spectacular countryside and its scenic treasures, mountains, native plants and wildlife (A photographer’s dream).
The Wicklow Gap and its scenery is the most varied on the island of Ireland. The journey through the mountains brings you through the countryside where famous movies such as Brave Heart, and PS I Love You were filmed. Enjoy a 15 minute stop for a stroll and photographic opportunities on top of the Wicklow Mountains overlooking the glens and valleys of County Wicklow.
Continuing over the Mountains we arrive at the world-famous heritage site of Glendalough (Glen of two lakes). This Monastic site dates from 600 AD. It was the centre of learning and from where Christianity was re-introduced to northern and central Europe after what is known as the dark ages. Have you heard of “Ireland, land of Saints and Scholars”? Well, Glendalough is why. Saint Kevin founded his monastery in this valley and today much of the ancient architecture remains such as St Kevin’s Kitchen, Church and Round Tower. The tower was constructed as shelter for the Monks and their Latin Biblical manuscripts from the barbarous marauding Vikings.
The glen of the two lakes in the Irish language is Glendalough. The lower lake takes under an hour to walk and the upper just over an hour. Departing Glendalough we journey through the highest village in Ireland known as Roundwood, see the Sugarloaf Mountains which prior to the ice age were higher than the Alps, the Powerscourt Estate and the Glen of Imaal just before reaching Kilnacanogue. Sit back and be entertained by our tour guide with some story-telling and traditional Irish music. We arrive back in Dublin city at approximately 6pm. Now it’s time to enjoy what Dublin city has to offer!

Howth, Dublin - Day Trip from Dublin, Ireland 2020 - Petite Paradise Studio Travel Guide in 4K
Hi guys, Dublin is a lovely city, but the smaller towns around it are quaint and picturesque. I spent December 30th of 2019 in Howth, a harbor town about 1 hr bus ride from Downtown Dublin.
Depends on where you stay in Dublin. For me I took bus 31 from the bus station right in front of Talbot Mall all the way to the last station in Howth at the cliff. It was a lovely stroll along the cliff path down to the harbor in town. There are a few restaurants, bars and coffee shops along the main road. I had steak for lunch which was a mistake but I didn't want more fish and chips.
For one of the best view of Howth, climb a few stairs up to St. Marry ruin. After that, you can walk around the older part of this quaint town.
I hope you enjoy this day trip from Dublin because I did very much.

Dublin, Ireland, walking tour
Ireland is best known as a land of quaint villages, friendly people and wild natural beauty but there is another side to this emerald isle -- the urban charms of Dublin.

This convivial capital is truly a fascinating place with warm, sociable people, lovely architecture, excellent museums, great pubs, varied restaurants, endless entertainment and the most popular attraction, Guinness, in the pubs and at their storehouse display.
We'll start out with three main areas south of the river Liffey: Trinity College, St. Stephen's Green and Temple bar. And then up to pedestrian shopping street, and of course out to the Guinness Storehouse.
Trinity College is one of the world’s great schools and a leading attraction, with more than half a million visitors each year. People come to see the graceful campus with its wonderful collection of historic buildings and gardens arranged in a harmonious setting spanning 35 acres.
We'll see Temple Bar, Dublin's most popular gathering spot. Temple Bar is the nightlife center of town, a great place for a stroll, perhaps have a pint and catch some traditional music.
Beer-lovers must visit the Guinness Storehouse where you can learn all about the brewing of that wonderful dark stout and enjoy some fresh samples. It is the country's most popular tourist attraction with 1.5 million annual visitors. The actual brewery is one block over, and is off-limits to visitors, but this impressive showcase presents very entertaining, high-tech multimedia displays that tell the whole story in a fun way.

Tour of Gobbins Coastal Walk Islandmagee Co Down
On Saturday 11th of August 2018 we finally got booked in to see/walk and experience the famous Gobbins Coastal path. This stunning spectacular coastal walkway over modern replicas of the original 1902 series of bridges has been described as the most dramtic walk in Europe. You can judge this for yourself when you come to visit. If you cannot get here I hope my video tour and accompanying commentary will give you an very good idea what you can expect to see. We had a great day on the walk. Our tour guide was Olwen. She was fun, a real people person and clearly loved the Gobbins and sharing her knowledge about them with others.
' The Gobbins, near Islandmagee, County Antrim, is a spectacular coastal walk along the Causeway Coastal Route. It is a 40 min. car trip from Belfast past Carrickfergus.
A 2.5- hour fully guided walking tour offers visitors the opportunity to experience the abundance of birdlife, amazing scenery, geology which exist along this dramatic coastline. Stunning bridge architecture links the path over rocky inletsand deep chasms.
Originally opened in 1902, the path has been restored and is now enjoyed by visitors from across the world who come to experience the dramatic scenery that awaits them along this stretch of coastline. Weaving its way along the basalt cliffs of the famous Causeway Coast, you will walk suspension bridges, through a tunnel and along pathways and see the ever-changing flora and fauna along the cliff face. Be amazed by the closeness of Scotland as you peer across the Irish Sea to the East. You will learn about the geology and biodiversity of the area, as well as its amazing history.
The Gobbins Path was masterminded by the Irish railway engineer, Berkley Dean Wise as an incredible tourist attraction. The path originally opened in 1902 and was later abandoned in the 1960’s until an investment of over £7.5 million brought about its rebirth in 2015.
The Gobbins Experience
The Gobbins Path is an arduous trek that is often narrow and uneven, accessed by a very steep pathway. Due to the nature of the rugged coastal location suitable outdoor clothing and walking/hiking boots with thick tread and ankle support are essential. Without exception, all guests must wear a safety helmet whilst experiencing The Gobbins. To enjoy The Gobbins a good level of fitness is needed. You must be fit enough to climb 50 flights of stairs and walk a very steep 1 in 5 gradient.

Northern Ireland: Family Fun Climbing the Giants Causeway
Northern Ireland: Family Fun Climbing the Giants Causeway
See more details on the blog:
After Dublin, we headed up to the tip top of Northern Ireland to see the UNESCO World Heritage Site, The Giant's Causeway. As there is no border crossing between Northern Ireland and the Repulic, it was a very straightforward drive. The only tricky part was navigating through Belfast which has modernized in the last couple of decades. We'd love to go back and explore that city a bit more. We arrived in late afternoon and parking was a challenge as crowds were still arriving. The visitor center / museum was fine and had decent bathrooms but lacking in science information. Unfortunately, my battery ran out near the end but we were able to return the next morning when there was barely anyone there and I focused on shooting 360 footage (check that out on our 360 Playlist). We stayed in a nice hostel in Portrush a few miles away which also has a train station and several hotels. Day tours from Belfast and Dublin are also an option if you lack rental car transportation.
While the causeway was impressive, we have similar formations in Montana. We were more impressed by the cliffs and beautiful scenery. What did you think of the Giant's Causeway?
