Snowdon Walks, Pyg Track and Miners Track, Snowdonia National Park Walks In Gwynedd, Wales, UK
Snowdon Walks, Pyg Track and Miners Track, Snowdonia National Park Walks In Gwynedd, Wales, UK
This Snowdon Walks, Pyg Track and Miners Track route was about 7.5 miles in distance. This route uses the Pyg Track on the outward journey and the Miners' Track on the return journey. The starting point is over 335 metre or 1,100 feet high at the top of Llanberis Pass. The terrain of the route was a combination of well maintained rocky mountain paths plus a track. The walking was strenuous on slopes with some short level sections. There were two long steep ascents and one long steep descent with some very short sections of rock scrambling required. Route finding was easy with obvious paths, good waymarking and good landmarks. There were no stiles to negotiate.

HOLYHEAD AND SNOWDONIA | WALES TRAVEL VLOG 7
I went to Northern Wales for a week for work and brought my vlogging camera along for some hiking in and around both Holyhead and Snowdonia national park. It was a beautiful week and we had wonderful weather for the whole trip!
Places to see in ( Blaenau Ffestiniog - UK )
Places to see in ( Blaenau Ffestiniog - UK )
Blaenau Ffestiniog is a historic mining town in Wales. It is in the historic county of Merionethshire, although currently administered as part of the unitary authority of Gwynedd. Blaenau Ffestiniog at one time was the second largest town in North Wales, behind Wrexham. Today, the town relies heavily on tourists, who come to see the many attractions within and around the town such as the Ffestiniog Railway and the Llechwedd Slate Caverns.
The revived Ffestiniog Railway and the Zip World Slate Caverns are popular tourist attractions, as is the Antur Stiniog downhill mountain biking centre. Recent attractions include the Zip World Titan zip-line site, which also now features the Bounce Below slate mine activity centre. Located in the mountains of Snowdonia, the town's slate industry declined during the early 20th century. The town's economy is now largely dependent on tourism. Although the town is in the centre of the Snowdonia National Park, the boundaries of the Park exclude the town and its substantial slate waste heaps.
Blaenau Ffestiniog is in the traditional county of Merionethshire. It is made up of a number of distinct areas, several of which take their names from settlements that predate the town, including Rhiwbryfdir, Glanypwll and Cwmbowydd. Other local villages, notably Tanygrisiau and Manod, are sometimes considered part of Blaenau Ffestiniog. The mountains around Blaenau Ffestiniog form the watershed between the River Lledr flowing to the north (a tributary of the River Conwy) and the River Dwyryd flowing to the west.
Blaenau Ffestiniog is known as the town with one of the highest rainfall in Wales. The town has several reservoirs, one of which supplies the Ffestiniog Hydro Power Station with water. Stwlan Dam can be seen in between two of the main mountains in the area, Moelwyn Bach and Moelwyn Mawr.
The main access route to Blaenau Ffestiniog is via the A470 road which runs north to Llandudno and south to Dolgellau and beyond. The A496 runs south from the town down to the coastal resort of Barmouth, and connects with the A487 towards Porthmadog and the Llŷn Peninsula. Immediately to the north of the town the A470 climbs steeply to the Crimea Pass and meets the A5 at Betws-y-Coed, towards Wrexham and Shrewsbury.
Bus services in the town are mainly provided by Express Motors with routes available to Porthmadog, Dolgellau and to Llandudno via Betws-y-Coed and Llanrwst. Town circular services via Tanygrisiau are operated hourly on weekdays by John's Coaches.
Blaenau Ffestiniog railway station, on the site of the former Great Western station, is used by the Ffestiniog Railway and the Conwy Valley Line, their previous stations being no longer in use. The Conwy Valley Line runs to the North Wales coast at Llandudno Junction with links to Chester, Holyhead, Manchester and the rest of the UK. The station sees thousands of visitors each year.
Blaenau Ffestiniog has several major tourist attractions, including the Ffestiniog Railway and the Llechwedd Slate Caverns, a former slate mine open to visitors. Llechwedd is often listed as one of Wales' top 5 visitor attractions. Near Blaenau Ffestiniog there are miles of mountain landscape with derelict quarries, rivers, various lakes and walking routes.
( Blaenau Ffestiniog - UK ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting the city of Blaenau Ffestiniog . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Blaenau Ffestiniog - UK

Three Castles Walk - 22 Miles
Three Castles Walk - 22 Miles
Join Nick and I for a 22 mile walk in the beautiful Welsh Countryside starting from Skenfrith, Monmouthshire close to the Wales/England border, on to the beautiful village of Grosmont for a look around Grosmont Castle before climbing to the trigg on top of Graig Syfyrddin also known as Edward's Tump that has an elevation of 423 metres.
We enjoy lunch from the woodland edge just off Graig Syfyrddin enjoying views to the the west of the Skirrid and the Sugar Loaf as it emerges from the mist and cloud.
We then march on toward White Castle at Llantilio Crossenny and have a walk around the beautiful church of St. Mary at Llanfair Cilgoed before reaching White Castle otherwise known as Llantilio Castle our second Norman Castle of the day at Llantilio Crossenny.
The walk then took us to Skenfrith Castle and our third and final Norman Castle of the day and 22 miles completed which was a little longer than we expected due to footpath diversions between White Castle and Skenfrith.
A great walk covering a lot of ground with a wealth of natural beauty, human interaction with the landscape and three once mighty Norman Castles that helped shape the societies and culture of Briton since the Norman Conquest of 1066.
Access to the three castles was free. Well done and thank you CADW!
The three Castles are managed by CADW which is the Welsh Government's historic environment service working for an accessible and well-protected historic environment for Wales.
Many thanks for watching.

SCX10 At South Stack Holyhead, UK
Welcome to yet another video of the SCX10 at South Stack Holyhead Wales! The truck was truly in its element here, the camera once again didn't get in the extreme angles it was climbing over! Off camera I was climbing over even more extreme terrain as I had two hands to control it better (I really need to invest in a monkey stand!)

A walk up Holyhead Mountain and a visit to South Stack Anglesey Sept 18 2017. A real adventure!
Something different. Worked out about 13k and almost 500m of climbing over the course of the walk but it was fantastic. Once you get near South Stack the views are stunning. If you enjoyed this please check out my UK walking films playlist
Britannia chases Galatea up Shap 30/5/15
Here is my footage of a very rare event in the mainline steam world where we see two steam tours without diesel involvement attacking the climb up Shap simultaneously on Saturday 30th May 2015. We first see Jubilee Class 45699 'Galatea' attacking the climb pulling 'The Cumbrian Coast Express' and then in the same frame we see Britannia Class 70000 'Britannia' closely following and awaiting the signals to clear for her attack on the summit.
Hope you enjoy.

Mountain Diary Entry: Classic Mountaineering on Grooved Arête, East Face of Tryfan in Snowdonia
Mountain Diary Entry 02.01.19: Celebrating the start of 2019 with an ascent of the fabulous classic rock climbing route, Grooved Arête on the East Face of Tryfan in the Ogwen Valley, Snowdonia.
This 230m route, graded at HVDiff is climbed in 7 fantastic pitches with a real test on the 50m rib pitch which leads onto the famous and thrilling Knight's Move slab on the 6th pitch. It was particularly exciting climbing in sub-zero temperatures with ice and frost on any rock that didn't get any sunshine!!! Brilliant start to the year!
England: Day 10 Chester: Cathedral and The Rows, Llangollen in North Wales, Liverpool, Albert Dock
This is Day 10 of our vacation in England, but it is actually the second day of our Trafalgar Coach Tour called, “England and Scotland Heritage Tour”. We travel to Chester and visit the Cathedral, gift shop and The Rows and also Llangollen in North Wales. We end in Liverpool at Albert Dock.
*The visit to Wales was an extra excursion and not included in the price of the tour, so we paid $33 (USD) for that.

RailScene Spotlight: Dawn Chorus - 44871 and 45407 climb out of Manchester at Clifton.
This may be one of the finest shots of steam I have made in 35 years of videoing all kinds of railways! See what you think as Ian Riley's magnificent pair of matching Black 5s storm up the 1 in 200 gradient out of Manchester at around about 8 am on Saturday 8th November 2019 through Clifton station on their way to the S&C and shap with The Citadel train. the combination of a backdrop of the tallest building in Greater Manchester set against a moody but bright sky, the sun lighting the train from the side, near-zero temperatures and NO WIND meant that the syncopated exhaust shot straight up and stayed there as they rounded the now-clear bend approaching the station. I didn't need anything else to go right that day, but it did. More shots will follow! electrification mast are the only downside but electrification meant that encroaching trees didn't allow this vista to exist until they were cleared to allow the masts to rise.
