Tulum, Coba & Cenotes | Exploring Mayan Ruins in Mexico
Visiting the Cancun or Playa del Carmen area of Mexico? Then you’re close to some incredible Mayan ruins, including Tulum and Coba. On our August 2017 trip to Riviera Maya, we took a day trip out to check out the ruins and a local cenote (underground rivers that were sacred to the Mayans). In this video, we review the highlights and provide some tips for those planning a similar trip.

Tour Tulum + Cobá + Cenote
You will explore Tulum & Coba with a guide! Coba is a Mayan city where you can climb the 120 steps of its main temple. Swimming in Cenote Tancach-Ha is also part of the adventure.
¡Explorarás Tulum y Cobá con un guía! Cobá es una ciudad maya en la que puedes subir los 120 escalones de su templo principal. Nadar en el Cenote Tancach-Há es parte de la aventura.
Climbing Coba
Our family climbed up and down the big pyramid in Coba, Mexico. (Part of the 'Coba Pyramid and Cenote Swim' excursion from Royal Caribbean)
FYI, we climbed with our 8 & 4 year old children in case folks are wondering if its ok for families.
Our FAVORITE tour in TULUM, MEXICO!!
In our Tulum vlog, we go deep into the Riviera Maya jungle for thrilling zip lines & secret cenotes.
►Learn Spanish like us!
Until yesterday, we had never gone to any cenotes in Mexico. Today, we are taking a jungle adventure with Selva Maya for some rock climbing, rappelling, zip lines, snorkeling in cenotes, and our first outdoor cenote! The entire day was nothing short of a spectacular adrenalin rush.
We know tons of people look for a Cancun cenote and Playa del Carmen cenotes but these TULUM Mexico cenotes were just incredible! If you’re looking for things to do near Tulum, Playa del Carmen, OR Cancun we highly recommend Selva Maya Eco Adventures for a fun jungle experience most tourists don’t know about.
This was our last full day in Tulum, Mexico and we’re a little sad to head to Playa del Carmen and leave the cenotes in Tulum behind. Swimming in cenotes has been an experience like no other we’ve had in Mexico. And the fact that we got to go snorkeling in cenotes was just a cherry on top! Hope you enjoy today’s Tulum vlog. We are already making plans to come back to this Pueblo Magico again!!
If you want to experience this Tulum adventure for yourself, Selva Maya Eco Adventure Tour has your back:

The Tulum Cenotes and Ruins you need to see.
Tulum, Mexico has the best cenotes, and some incredible Coba Ruins, which are one of the few Mayan ruins that you can still walk on.
We recommend swimming in the Cenote Chu-Ha and Cenote Tankach-Ha, after visiting the Coba Ruins, right when they open at 8am.

Tulum - Coba Ruins and Cenotes Tour!
We rented a car during our last day in Playa del Carmen and set of to Tulum for the day to explore the Mayan Ruins in Coba and the nearby Cenotes.
We highly recommend that anyone staying in Cancun or Playa del Carmen rent a car (extremely cheap vs. taking a taxi) and explore the beauty of Quintana Roo!
Please excuse the audio background noise -- we're still getting used to shooting and editing.
Feedback is much appreciated as we plan on uploading more videos of our travels :)
