Driving Downtown - City Of Newark 4K - New Jersey USA
Driving Downtown Streets - Market Street - Newark New Jersey USA - Episode 32.
Starting Point: . Route: .
Newark is the largest city (by population) in the U.S. state of New Jersey, and the county seat of Essex County.[25][26] One of the nation's major air, shipping, and rail hubs, the city had a population of 277,140 in 2010.
Much of the city's retail and commercial developments are centered on Broad Street (the city's widest north/south boulevard, which once carried streetcars headed for Elizabeth and points south) and Market Street. The intersection of the two streets, known as Four Corners is widely considered to be one of the busiest in the state and at one time was considered the busiest in the country.[3]
Both Broad Street and Market Street are a bustle of activity crowded with numerous shops. Broad Street has many street vendors as well. At night however the streets are vacant and shops are closed. The City of Newark is committed to turning downtown into a 24-hour city, and the downtown area is slowly beginning to develop a 24-hour presence. The former Hahne's and Lefcourt buildings are going to be converted into condominiums beginning in 2005.[needs update] Rutgers–Newark has built a six hundred bed dorm on Central Avenue. An old office building on Clinton Street has already successfully been converted to luxury lofts. Additionally, 1180 Raymond across from Military Park - Newark's second tallest building - completed a $150 million conversion to luxury apartments in 2006.
Located in the heart of New Jersey's Gateway Region, Newark is the second-largest city in the New York metropolitan area, approximately 8 miles (13 km) west of Manhattan. Port Newark, the major container shipping terminal in the Port of New York and New Jersey, is the largest on the East Coast. Newark Liberty International Airport was the first municipal commercial airport in the United States, and today is one of its busiest.[27][28][29]
Newark is headquarters to numerous corporations, such as Prudential Financial, Audible.com, Panasonic Corporation of North America and PSEG. It is also home to several universities, such as Rutgers–Newark (including the law school and medical school), the New Jersey Institute of Technology, and Seton Hall University's Law School. Among others, its cultural and sports venues include the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, the Prudential Center, and the Bears & Eagles Riverfront Baseball Stadium.
Newark is divided into five political wards, and contains neighborhoods ranging in character from bustling urban districts to quiet suburban enclaves. Newark's Branch Brook Park is the oldest county park in the United States and is home to the nation's largest collection of cherry blossom trees, numbering over 5,000.
Economy
More than 100,000 people commute to Newark each workday,[99] making it the state's largest employment center with many white-collar jobs in insurance, finance, import-export, health-care, and government.[100] As a major courthouse venue including federal, state, and county facilities, it is home to more than 1,000 law firms. The city is also a college town, with nearly 50,000 students attending the city's universities and medical and law schools.[101][102] Its airport, maritime port, rail facilities, and highway network make Newark the busiest transshipment hub on the East Coast in terms of volume.[103][104]
Though Newark is not the industrial colossus of the past, the city does have a considerable amount of industry and light manufacturing.[105] The southern portion of the Ironbound, also known as the Industrial Meadowlands, has seen many factories built since World War II, including a large Anheuser-Busch brewery that opened in 1951 and distributed 7.5 million barrels of beer in 2007.[106] The service industry is also growing rapidly, replacing those in the manufacturing industry, which was once Newark's primary economy. In addition, transportation has become a large business in Newark, accounting for more than 17,000 jobs in 2011.[107]

Ohio Goes To Trump; White House Race Uncertain
Donald Trump captured a crucial victory over Hillary Clinton in Ohio Tuesday night. The Midwestern battleground was drawn to his searing strain of economic populism, As an ugly and unpredictable presidential election lurched to an uncertain finish, other key battleground states remained exceptionally tight.
For Trump, victory in Ohio was vital to hopes of winning the White House. Clinton was banking on victories in the upper Midwest and Western battlegrounds to hold off Trump. Votes were still being counted.
Reflecting investor concern over what a Trump presidency might mean for the economy and trade, the uncertainty sent Dow futures and Asian markets tumbling.
As Clinton's team anxiously waited for results to roll in, the candidate tweeted to supporters, Whatever happens tonight, thank you for everything.

Election 2016 - Donald Trump won!
Would they fix the elections? Would they make up some fake emergency to stay in power? Would they find some nefarious way to make sure Hillary Clinton won the elections? Did the powers-that-be secretly control these things? Was our democracy real? These are all thoughts I would not have entertained eight years ago. I would have found them laughable. But after seeing what Obama was willing to do in the last eight years, it seemed that nothing was beyond him.
But it didn't happen. What tremendous relief! And joy. America survives!
As Trump said in his victory speech, it's okay to dream again. For the rest of the world to believe again. The beacon of light is back. The shining city on the hill is back. We sent a loud and clear message to the rest of the world - you are all Americans again.
We docked the ship on shore. We're back to normal now. We can have our fights about domestic policy. We can disagree slightly on foreign policy. We can go back and forth on all the issues. But the constitution stands. Some crazy neo-cons won't convince an idiot president to start another reckless war. And we can all sleep well at night again.
The idea of a healthcare debate sounds so lovely to me. We have habeas corpus back. We have re-established the fundamental building blocks of Western civilization. We have our foundation underneath us. Now, let's go forward and fight, argue and disagree -- and be the country I know and love again.
America has come back home.

Originally incorporated as Derryfield in 1751, Manchester later was incorporated as the city of Manchester in 1846, named for Manchester, England, with the goal of copying the canal system used there to enhance shipping on the Merrimack River. Today Manchester is the location of The University of New Hampshire at Manchester. You can shop at the Mall of New Hampshire or special shops and boutiques on Elm Street, the principal downtown thoroughfare and stay in cozy lodgings after enjoying a terrific meal at one of the city's delightful eateries.
The New Hampshire primary is the first primary election held in the United States and the second step following the Iowa Caucuses in choosing the Democratic and Republican nominees for the presidency. It takes place in the small state of New Hampshire and is designed to give an early and important voice to the New England region much like the Iowa Caucus gives an early and important voice to the Midwest, South Carolina Primary to the South and Nevada Caucus to the West.
The New Hampshire Primary has a proud history that goes back to 1916. People were not voting directly for the candidates in 1916 instead they voted for delegates for the National Convention. In 1949 Richard Upton decided to make the primary more meaningful by passing legislation allowing the people to vote directly for the candidates instead of for delegates. In 1952, 43% of New Hampshire voters cast their votes in the states first true primary. In 1977 delegate names were removed from the ballot and a law that eliminated any possible future encroachment on the state's primary being the first was enacted. It has been the the first primary in the nation since that law in 1977. This represents the first time when the people have a direct voice in their parties presidential candidate, unlike the caucuses.
New Hampshire is considered an independent state that votes both Democrat and Republican and therefore has been considered a good gauge of the nations feelings. Though more liberal west coast voters, southern conservatives and minorities would probably beg to differ. The state's population is 96% white. Nevertheless, the voters of New Hampshire seem to be aware of this and vote for a candidate's nationwide-electability in addition to their own personal choice. In 1992 the neighbor senator of Massachusetts, Paul Tsongas defeated southerner Bill Clinton 33.2% to 24.8%, but Clinton's strong showing surprised most and gave him the momentum to win and the nicknameThe Comeback Kid.
The New Hampshire Primary gives a candidate with little money, low name recognition or candidates from smaller states legitimate shots at winning. It is a small state who demands personal contact and is opposed to typical negative political ads. History says do well in Iowa or New Hampshire or go home.

Donald Trump wins Thousands of Americans take to streets to protest against new President elect
Thousands of people have taken to the streets across western America to protest against Donald Trump's victory over Hillary Clinton in the US presidential election
Cities in California, Oregon and Washington all witnessed angry demonstrations, with objects being set alight and effigies burned.
Up to 1,500 people gathered at the University of California in Los Angeles in the early hours to express their anger and sadness at the shock result.
Elsewhere in the state, tyres and rubbish trucks were reportedly set alight and windows smashed as Californians, who overwhelmingly backed Mrs Clinton, reacted to the news that Mr Trump looked set to become their next president.
Some marched through the city chanting anti-Trump slogans. A crown at the University of California Santa Barbara shouted: “Not my president. Not my president.”, according to the LA Times.
Protester N.J. Omorogieva told the newspaper she was “heartbroken” by the result, saying she joined the demonstration “to give hugs to people who were overcome by devastation.”
Videos uploaded to social media showed hundreds of people in Los Angeles chanting “We will be all right”.
One person can be seen carrying a Mexico flag, an apparent protest against Mr Trump’s pledge to clamp down on Mexican immigration to the US by building a wall along the border. The new president has previously said Mexican immigrants are “rapists” who are bringing “drugs and crime” into the USA.
In Oakland, just outside San Francisco, protesters reportedly smashed a window at offices of the Oakland Tribune newspaper and set fire to vehicles and tyres. Effigies of the new president elect were also burned.
One demonstrator was taken to hospital with “major injuries” after reportedly being hit by a car.
In nearby San Diego, 500 students marches across their campus, shouting: “F*** Donald Trump”.
And in New York, singer Lady Gaga staged a protest outside Trump Towers by standing on top of a sewage truck and holding a sign reading ‘Love trumps hate’.
Fireworks were set off by protesters in Seattle, Washington while demonstrations also took place in the cities of Portland and Eugene in Oregon.
In other areas, however, Trump supporters gathered to celebrate their victory. Around 30 people headed to Mr Trump’s star on the Walk of Fame in Hollywood, where they chanted “This is our president” as counter-protestors looked on.
Outside the White House, too, Republican supporters gathered to rejoice at Mr Trump's election victory.
The protests are a sign of the deep divisions that were exposed during a long and bitter election campaign that saw the electorate deeply polarised along social, ethnic and geographical lines.
Donald Trump was eventually elected as the 45th President of the United States after winning all the key battleground states, despite Hillary Clinton receiving more votes across the country.

Impeachment trial of President Trump | Jan. 31, 2020 (FULL LIVE STREAM)
A crucial vote is anticipated Jan. 31 on whether to call witnesses in the Trump impeachment trial, including former national security adviser John Bolton. In a manuscript of his new book, Bolton reportedly says that Trump directly tied the holdup of nearly $400 million in military assistance to Ukraine to investigations of the Bidens.
Trump was impeached by the House of Representatives in December for abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. Impeachment does not mean that the president has been removed from office. In the next phase, the Senate must hold a trial to make that determination. A Senate impeachment trial has happened only two other times in American history and once in the modern era. At the center of the Democrats’ case is that Trump sought to withhold military assistance and an Oval Office meeting until Ukraine announced investigations into former vice president Joe Biden and his son.

Where Do You Buy A Ghost Town? Craigslist
You can find a whole slew of items for sale on Craigslist: used boats, musical instruments, old golf clubs and at least one ghost town.
Cabin Creek, Colorado, is on the market. The price tag? $350,000. The town comes with nearly five acres of land plus a gas station, eight-room motel, restaurant, RV park, a couple houses and a shooting range.
James Johnson is the current owner of the tiny town off Highway 36 in Adams County. But after decades of living there, he told a local TV station it's time to retire and move away.
Johnson admits the town needs some TLC. According to the Craigslist post, both the motel and gas station need new septic tanks. As for the main house? It needs repairs but is livable.
We should also note — there’s a chance this ghost town actually has ghosts. KDVR reports a murder occurred at the gas station in Cabin Creek in the '70s and according to the town's Facebook page, the town opens up as a haunted attraction around Halloween.
But if you've got the guts and the cash, Cabin Creek may be a good investment. Especially when you compare what $350,000 would buy you just an hour away in downtown Denver, Colorado.
We found this 731-square-foot one-bedroom, one-bath Denver condo listed on real estate website Zillow for about the same price.
It seems Johnson doesn't have too many requirements for who gets the keys to the town next, I want to find someone that’s going to come out here and see the potential like I did.

IMPEACHMENT TRIAL LIVE: Senate questions House managers and Trump's legal team – 1/29/2020
Norway - Greece 2-2 Euro 2008
Norway - Greece Euro 2008
Two goals by Sotirios Kyrgiakos helped Greece's prospects of defending their European title in Austria and Switzerland, with a hard-earned away draw against in-form Norway.
Kyrgiakos double
Otto Rehhagel's side seem to be rekindling in qualifying the form that made them surprise winners at UEFA EURO 2004™ -- the kind of form that eluded them when they missed out on last summer's FIFA World Cup. Twice the Group C leaders went ahead in the Norwegian capital through Kyrgiakos but Norway equalised on each occasion, through John Carew and a magnificent strike from John Arne Riise. The draw kept Greece top of a pool in which Turkey, Norway and Bosnia-Herzegovina remain in contention for the two qualification spots.
Carew equaliser
The visitors started well, requiring only seven minutes to take the initiative. A corner by Georgios Karagounis was flicked on and Kyrgiakos was there to head in the opener. Norway immediately hit back and goalkeeper Konstantinos Chalkias did well to tip a Morten Gamst Pedersen shot behind for a corner. But on the quarter-hour mark Carew restored parity, rising to nod in a Riise cross.
Riise strike
On the half-hour Kyrgiakos made it 2-1 for Greece when he netted from close range after goalkeeper Håkon Opdal had kept out his initial header from a Karagounis delivery. Norway again pulled level though: Riise scoring superbly after collecting a Jan Gunnar Solli pass. At the other end, Nikolaos Liberopoulos hit the bar early in the second half while Karagounis also went close.
End to end
Åge Hareide's men had several further chances, most notably when Pedersen shot wide, and they could have won the match late on -- Riise forced another save from Chalkias before Martin Andresen's goalbound effort was deflected to safety. Even so, Greece themselves almost stole the points at the death as Liberopoulous again struck the woodwork. An exciting match ended all square.
