Leeds Town Hall Clock
A look at Leeds Town Hall Clock on Tuesday 2nd September 2014.
Leeds went through a period of rapid growth in the first half of the 19th century and by the mid-19th century it became apparent that the court house was no longer large enough for the functions it performed. In July 1850, Leeds Borough Council decided to build a new town hall and established a committee to assess the opinions of Leeds' inhabitants as to the building of a new municipal hall.
The clock was first installed in 1860 by Dent of London. However, the installation was not a success and the clock failed to work so the famous Leeds clockmaker William Potts was drafted in to fix it. Many people regard this as a 'Potts Clock'.

Evesham Town Hall Clock
A look at Evesham Town Hall Clock on Saturday 7th February 2015.
The Town Hall, known as the new Guild Hall 150 years ago, is amongst the oldest buildings in Evesham, older buildings being the churches of All Saints and St. Lawrence, the Bell Tower, the Almonry, Abbot Reginald’s Gateway and the former Evesham Grammar School at Merstow Green, as well as the Round House next to the Town Hall.
The building was remodelled in 1885, and the Clock Tower erected in 1887 to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee. The Clock Tower was refurbished early in 1998.

Grange Hotel Grange-over-Sands
The Grange Hotel was built in 1866 in grand Italianate style by the Furness Railway company, who transformed the medieval village of Grange into a select resort for Victorian gentry. The combination of balmy, warm weather, fine houses and delightful gardens made Grange-over-Sands one of the most fashionable resorts of the day. The Grange Hotel has been extensively and tastefully refurbished, complete with marble floors and chandeliers in keeping with its original grand style. Fine terraced gardens overlook the town. Many of the rooms have front-facing Bay views,
Bolton Town Hall Clock
A look at Bolton Town Hall Clock, Greater Manchester, on the late morning of Thursday 12th February 2015.
Bolton Town Hall, Victoria Square, Bolton, was built between 1866 and 1873 for the County Borough of Bolton to designs by William Hill of Leeds and George Woodhouse of Bolton. The town hall was extended in the 1930s to the designs of Bradshaw, Gass and Hope and has been designated a Grade II* listed building by English Heritage.
The Baroque clock tower reaches a height of 198 feet (60.35 metres) and each of the four glass clock faces is 12 feet (3.65 metres) across and illuminated from within at night. The original clock mechanism was built by William Potts of Leeds. The bells were cast by Warner & Sons of London who also provided the quarter hour bells for the Palace of Westminster (but not 'Big Ben', the hour bell). Bolton's hour bell weighs in at just over 4 tons while the four quarter hour bells are 1.5 tons each.
In 1978 Fred Dibnah of television fame, made repairs to the clock tower and its 16 stone pillars. Whilst repairing the tower he gilded the sphere at the top.
