세이셸에서 가장 큰 섬이자 주도인 마에. 그 중심엔 빅토리아가 있다. 빅토리아는 세이셸의 유일한 도시이자 세계에서 가장 작은 초미니 수도다. 모든 여행자들이 세이셸의 여정을 시작하는 곳으로 빅토리아는 세이셸의 문화와 역사를 이해할 수 있는 가장 좋은 장소이기도 하다. 빅토리아 중심엔 런던의 빅벤을 닮은 은색 조형물을 볼 수 있다. 영국 식민지 시대 1903년 영국 왕실로부터 받은 시계탑이란다. 현지에선 스몰빅벤이라 불린다. 시계탑 바로 옆에 인도에서나 만날 듯한 화려한 색과 문향의 힌두사원도 보인다. 이렇 듯 세이셸은 아시아, 유럽, 아프리카의 다양한 인종과 문화가 공존하는 크레올 문화가 자리하고 있다.

Seychelles Capital Victoria on a sunny day
Views from the hillsides overlooking Victoria and the bay, and down to the busy Sir Selwyn Selwyn-Clarke Market in center of town. While in town we pass the clock tower at the beginning of Independence Avenue, and the Bicentennial monument at the other end of the street. Also in central town we check out the Arul Mihu Navasakthi Vinayagar Temple, the only Hindu temple in the Seychelles.

Um passeio pela Albert Street leva ao ponto central da cidade, o colorido mercado onde barracas de peixe fresco, frutas e vegetais tropicais, ervas e especiarias são exibidos em uma abundância de fragrâncias.
