Coffee Bean, Red Berries, Plum
Moderately intense colour, ruby-red, with a slight purple hue. Fine nose. Good intensity there with some roasted oak, dark fruit, plum, blackberry. Some vanilla and clove. Good grip on the palate there. Quite fleshy and opulent, with nicely integrated new oak. Some roasted notes, coffee bean and mild spices. Very nice fruit here, attractive dark berries, with plum, red berries on the finish. Quite long and persistent. Quite delicious today but certainly with potential for many years in the cellar.

Tassie Travellers - Clip09 - Caves of Chateau Clos des Menuts
The caves are fascinating. Many of the Château's, as the wineries are known, have caves dug deep beneath the rock where the wine is kept to mature. We visited under Chateau Clos des Menuts which is right in the middle of the town. It is amazing check out the photos and I will post a video too. Haha, Rose and I called it Des Me Nuts. We bought a couple of bottles and for next week we were drinking a Des Me Nuts. Really nice red wine, by the way.

Wild Berry, Sweet Spiciness, Floral Notes
Very deep and inky colour, still appearing youthful with coloured legs and a deep ruby purple core. Fine nose, expressive here with some roasted wood, roasted coffee, but really fine wood; finely toasted notes with a dark fruity character of wild berries with blackberry, some floral hints and fine spices. Very nice, good weight here, dense fruit, good level of concentration. There’s a good deal of tannin here but I think that they’re really nicely grainy, well-integrated. Vibrant freshness as well. Oak is less noticeable on the palate, it just adds some finely roasted notes like coffee beans. Good quality tannin, the aftertaste is quite long and lingering; there’s a very fine mild spiciness, combining that roasted oak with that wild berry fruit character. Still youthful, but with a slight hint of complexity; doubtlessly a wine that should develop really well for quite a long time.

Saint Emilion
Saint Emilion Daytrip captured and visited on the 3rd of March 2009. Some of the places seen:
The Cordeliersmonastery and cloister
This monastery, built by the Franciscan monks, a mendicant order, dates from the end of the fourteenth Century. It is well worth a visit and the atmosphere invites you to take your time. The ivy and plants which cover the former monastery are also quite attractive.
The «Castel Daou Rey» (or Chateau du Roy), the kings tower
It is a massive construction, and the only remains of what is believed to have been the kings castle. This fortress was the symbol of royal power within the walls of the free town.
The bell tower of the monolithic church
Located directly above the monolithic church, the bell tower was built between the XIIth and the XVth Centuries. It towers 133 meters over the Place de lEglise Monolithe (mponolithic church square)
Chateau Clos des Menuts
Located inside the walls of the old city, the cellar Chateau Cardinal-Villemaurine has superb cellars. On the ground floor very polite and professional waiters will suggest you fine wines choosing among a lot of bottles.

Bitter Chocolate, Plum, Blackberry
Youthful and bright colour with a purple hue. Dark intense ruby core. Fine nose. Intense fruitiness there with high ripeness. With dark fruit, dark plum, wild berries. Quite discreet hint of wood, just a touch of leather and tobacco as well. Good grip on the palate full-bodied. With quite high level of fine tannin. So good extract in here. Some notes of bitter chocolate, coco powder, paired with that dark juicy fruit. With notes of rather plum and blackberry. Vital freshness as well. So well-integrated acidity. Long and lingering on the finish. Yeah, really delicious dark fruit here. A wine that still appears very youthful. It should open within the coming year or so. Nothing sharp or angular. A bit of youth shining through. Should certainly have the potential for an ageing for another eight to ten years. Good length, good finish, good components.

Château La Couspaude - 2012 - Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classé
Château La Couspaude - 2012 - Saint Emilion Grand Cru Classé tasted by the Best Sommelier in the World Andreas Larsson.
Fine Spiciness, Wild Berry Fruit, Cassis
Very inky colour, completely impenetrable, appearing very youthful. Also the nose is very young here, we have a high level of ripeness, but still a bit discreet in terms of aroma. Very inky dark fruit here, again I would talk about dark cherry, dark plum, blackberry. Oak is not really noticeable. It’s very concentrated on the palate, I would call it a quite massive structure, intense, with layers of dark fruit. I think the tannins are already ripe, the oak is not really noticeable on the palate. It has a very high concentration and a very long finish as well. I think this is a very ambitious wine that will develop extremely well, the only thing we miss today is aromatic complexity and roundness, and everything else will come with age. Very nice candidate, put it back in your cellar.
