Prince Edward County Lavender Festival & Closson Chase Winery
Please watch: My Latest Video! Davis Family Farm Sunflower Festival, Sunflower Fields Near Toronto
--~--
In this video, my family and I paid a visit to The Prince Edward County Lavender Farm, and the Closson Chase Winery. Located in the Hillier Wine region of Prince Edward County, a short 20 minute drive from Belleville.
There are a few Lavender fields near Toronto, but this one has been on our family weekend bucketlist because this year, they celebrated their 8th annual Lavender Festival. We'd read about Live Music, A Portable Petting Zoo, and a Lavender Fairy online, who would all be attending this year. We are so glad we made it for the last day of the festival, where we got to enjoy them all, and taste some delicious Lavender Gelato!
After our trip to the PEC, we stopped not far down the road for a Closson Chase Wine Tasting, which could not have been more enjoyable and beautiful. The property itself is so majestic, it would be hard for anyone visiting not to fall in love with their exquisite wines and enjoy the scenery. What was totally amazing and unexpected about our visit there, was that the wonderful people at Closson Chase gave my son Aiden a great big red Freeze to enjoy while we adults sampled the phenomenal wines!
Thank you to Closson Case Winery for making our very first expirience at a winery as a family so incredible and enjoyable.
Admission was $10 for the Festival, Free for kids under 12 ($5 throughout the regular season) Parking was Free and On Site, making this already amazing experience even sweeter!

Claudine Galy - Why Prince Edward County?
Jeff asks, “What made you choose to call Prince Edward County your home?”.
The list is long but I’ll tell my favourites. First, the sense of community here is unmatched. People are warm, welcoming, and supportive. One example: I was proud to witness & be part of the community effort for PEC Syria. So much care & thought was put into helping Syrian families move to our area. Second, this is a community driven by many types of business ranging from agriculture to heavy industry and all in between, but there is definitely a support for and focus on the Arts, food, craft beer, and wine, which makes this a really fun place to live year-round. Third, I grew up in the Caribbean and will tell you all day, we are spoiled here in the County for beautiful, sparkling waterfront .. including picture-perfect white sand beaches!
I see Prince Edward as the perfect location to lay down roots & build a business. The entrepreneurial spirit here is strong & creative. I love hearing the stories of those who are making a success of themselves here! On that note.. what more perfect of a location to have this conversation, than the County Canteen? Nat and Drew are completely inspiring to me, a great example of families who move to (or return to) Prince Edward County, pursuing a dream and enriching our community with their energy & drive. Looking forward to another year of discovery and growth in Prince Edward County!
