Clouds Hill in Dorset, the former home of T. E. Lawrence C.B. D.S.O. (Lawrence of Arabia).
Clouds Hill was the former home of T. E. Lawrence, known as Lawrence of Arabia. The cottage is owned by the National Trust and is full of T.E.'s possessions. He designed a lot of the furnishings, even the ceramics. It's a tranquil place and you feel like T.E. has just popped out. There is no toilet, he would say his spade was the toilet! As well as colleagues in the forces, many famous people visited him there, including Thomas Hardy. It's well worth a visit, plus you are allowed to take photographs in there and film.

Andy's National Trust Travel Blogs: Clouds Hill, home of Lawrence of Arabia
There are 500+ places of interest in the UK under the National Trust banner and I will be attempting to visit as many as I can, reporting as I do all the important stuff relative to accessibility.
Clouds Hill is an isolated cottage near Wareham in the county of Dorset in South West England. It is the former home of T. E. Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia) and is now run as a writer's home museum by the National Trust. The site is in the parish of Turners Puddle in Purbeck District.
The small building has colourwashed brick walls and a tiled roof. It was probably built as forester's cottage in the early 19th century. The lintel over the door now bears a Greek inscription οὐ φροντὶς (Why Worry). It is now a Grade II* listed building as Clouds Hill (Lawrence of Arabia's Cottage); it was upgraded from Grade II in 2015.

Wareham Town Museum Dorset.
Wareham Town Museum tells the story of the Wareham area of Dorset in southern England from prehistoric times to the present day, with a special exhibition on Lawrence of Arabia, who lived nearby. The museum, which is in the centre of Wareham, next to the town hall, is supported by the Wareham Town Council and is run by volunteers.
The museum is based in Wareham Town Hall and focusses on the local area and the people who lived in Wareham over the centuries. It includes information about archaeology, geology and local history. It is staffed by volunteers and runs on donations.
The museum has a special section on Lawrence of Arabia, who lived close by at Clouds Hill, now maintained by National Trust. They have hosted lectures by the archaeologist, Neil Faulkner, on the topic, explaining Lawrence's role at the Hallat Ammar train ambush in 1917, showing a bullet apparently fired from a Colt pistol by Lawrence himself. The museum has produced an hour-long DVD entitled T. E. Lawrence — His Final Years in Dorset which includes a reconstruction of Lawrence's fatal motorcycle accident while riding his beloved Brough Superior near his home, Clouds Hill, in May 1935.
The museum has displayed some Saxon artefacts, including a sword found in the River Frome near Wareham from 10th century. The sword was inscribed with old English text and may have belonged to royalty. After the original was returned to Dorset County Museum, the museum put together a new Saxon exhibition which includes a replica of the sword.

St Martin's Church Wareham Dorset.
St Martin's Church, Wareham, sometimes St Martin's-on-the-walls, is an Anglo-Saxon church in the town of Wareham, Dorset in England. It is the most complete example of an Anglo-Saxon church in Dorset.
The church is reputed to have been founded by Saint Aldhelm in the 7th century. It is thought that this earlier building was destroyed by Cnut the Great in 1015. The present building dates from about AD 1030. Anglo-Saxon features include a tall, narrow nave and chancel, late Anglo-Saxon wall-arcading in the north west aisle and traces of a Saxon door. The building has been altered and expanded over the years but the nave and a tiny window in the north side of the chancel are original features. On the north wall of the chancel are 12th-century frescoes depicting Saint Martin on horseback, escorted by attendants, dividing his cloak and giving one half to a naked beggar.
On one of the walls a number of red stars have been painted, possibly representing plague deaths in the 17th century.
During the Great Fire of Wareham in 1762 the church was used as a temporary refuge for those who had lost their homes. Later the church fell into disuse but at the beginning of the 20th century a programme of restoration began and the church was rededicated on 23 November 1936.
In the north aisle sits a stone effigy of T. E. Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia), created by his friend Eric Kennington.
The church is still in use, with a regular weekly communion on Wednesdays.

DJI Mavic Pro using D-Cinelog at Corfe Castle Dorset
Corfe Castle basking in the early morning light filmed using DJI Mavic Pro. The video was created during the golden hour around 30 minutes after sunrise. Difficult to get down to 1/50 second so used a Polar Pro ND16 to get the shutter speed i needed. Edited in Adobe Premier Pro (only my second video) and still have a huge learning curve. Corfe Castle is a fortification standing above the village of the same name on the Isle of Purbeck in the English county of Dorset. Built by William the Conqueror, the castle dates back to the 11th century and commands a gap in the Purbeck Hills on the route between Wareham and Swanage. The first phase was one of the earliest castles in England to be built at least partly using stone when the majority were built with earth and timber. Corfe Castle underwent major structural changes in the 12th and 13th centuries.
In 1572, Corfe Castle left the Crown's control when Elizabeth I sold it to Sir Christopher Hatton. Sir John Bankes bought the castle in 1635, and was the owner during the English Civil War. His wife, Lady Mary Bankes, led the defence of the castle when it was twice besieged by Parliamentarian forces. The first siege, in 1643, was unsuccessful, but by 1645 Corfe was one of the last remaining royalist strongholds in southern England and fell to a siege ending in an assault. In March that year Corfe Castle was demolished on Parliament's orders. Owned by the National Trust, the castle is open to the public and in 2010 received around 190,000 visitors. It is protected as a Grade I listed building and a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
06/02/2009 Snow over the Ridgeway Hills above Weymouth Dorset England
06/02/2009 Snow hardly ever falls in Weymouth and when it does it virtually never pitches. What a surprise it was that the day after we got back from our holiday in hot and humid Indonesia we were greeted by a blanket of snow and freezing temperatures. Still it was good to be here to see it as I have not seen snow like this since I was a child. ot a reason for the whoe country to grind to a halt though, damn bad show about that.
