maps - NZ - virtualNZ - Landsat 2012 - HD
(best viewed in 720pHD) ... used on ... this NZ version was composited from over 500 Landsat 5 and 7 tiles (1999-2011, median date is 2003.03.21), it is absolutely cloudless, and without patches (no missing or made up data) nor seams, seasonal extremes nor local/temporal colour variations
snow cover was removed from Landsat images captured during the months of June, July, August, Setptember
the original composite is 20m per pixel resolution (upscaled from utm 28-30m,) and was authored entirely in 16bit colour depth, and in metres, not degrees... original composite is 60,000 x 90,000 pixels in nztm2000 format, and registers very well with existing government sourced topographic maps
would make a cool ultra-large format print, poster, or atlas
upscaling from original Landsat resolution of 28-30m to 20m works ok, as this composite is very colour rich due to the large number of images it is made up from

Wine Food flavour-Kevin Judd Greywacke Winemaker
Wine Food flavour-Kevin Judd Greywacke winemaker
Kevin Judd, who was winemaker for Cloudy Bay winery since its first vintage in 1985, inspects a glass of 1994 sauvignon blanc. Judd gained an international reputation for Cloudy Bay sauvignon blanc. In 2009 he set up Greywacke winery, also based in Marlborough.
Greywacke is the Marlborough label of Kevin Judd, and the fulfilment of a long held dream. The
name Greywacke was adopted by Kevin and his wife Kimberley for their first Marlborough
vineyard located in Rapaura, named in recognition of the high prevalence of rounded greywacke
river stones in the soils of the vineyard. Kevin registered the name back in 1993 with the vague
notion that he might one day want to use it on a wine label of his own.
This quality focused winemaking venture sources fruit from mature vineyards within the central
Wairau Plains and the Southern Valleys. These prime viticultural sites are cultivated using yield
restricting vineyard management techniques and intense canopy management regimes. A number
of the vineyards are owned by the Sutherland family, while complementary grape parcels are
acquired from additional select sites, all located within these sub-regions.
The wines are made by Kevin at Dog Point Winery in the lower Brancott Valley, a facility extended
to him by long-standing friends and industry colleagues, Ivan Sutherland and James Healy.
The Greywacke portfolio is primarily based on two varieties, sauvignon blanc and pinot noir, the
sauvignon blanc being produced in two distinctly different styles. In addition to this core range
of three wines, there are also limited edition releases of chardonnay, and three aromatic varieties
– pinot gris, riesling and gewurztraminer. Kevin’s signature vineyard photographs provide the
unmistakable identity of the Greywacke range.

Discover the magic of Stoneleigh
In Rapaura, Marlborough there lies a vineyard studded with precious stones.
Once the bed of an ancient river, today they form the bed of our vineyard.
We call them sunstones.
During the day, the sunstones reflect the brilliant Marlborough sunshine up into the vines and grapes. Bathed with heat from above and below, the grapes gradually ripen and their beautifully rich flavour intensifies.
Starved of moisture and struggling to grow in the stony soil, the vines concentrate their efforts into producing a few precious grapes, with the cool Marlborough nights locking the crisp, concentrated flavour inside. What the vines lack in quantity of fruit, they more than make up for in quality.
The result is a rare wine; elegant and crisp, yet intense - the magical taste of Stoneleigh.
