Toastmasters District 59 is yet again organizing a fall conference. This time it will take place in Basel Switzerland. The Basel Toastmasters clubs are taking the lead for organizing it. The District 59 conference is going to host between 200 - 300 visitors from mostly central Europe, but also some from all over the world. The Toastmasters District 59 conference in Basel will be full of excitement, thanks to the workshops, contest, the networking with other Toastmasters and of course, the city of Basel. (Neuauflage) Von der Chemin de fer de Strasbourg à Bâle mit ihrem Bahnhof an der Lottergasse in Basel (1845) bis zum Centralbahnhof Basel von 1860 der Schweizerischen Centralbahn. Der Kurzfilm beinhaltet zwei einfache 3D-Modelle der beiden Bahnhöfe. Zudem: Die verbleibenden Relikte aus jener Zeit: Birsigviadukt, Güterhalle (heute im St. Johann) und der zugemauerte Zugang zum Pfäffiloch.

0:00 Did you know that there are actually 3 levels of taxation in Switzerland?
0:07 I’m Beat Meyer with Expat Tax Switzerland. I’m a Swiss certified public accountant and tax specialist.
0:14 Switzerland is a federal republic. It has 26 states or cantons and it places taxes on income and wealth (also known as direct taxes) and on goods and services (also known as indirect taxes). The tax system in Switzerland is quite complex because the 26 cantons and the about 2,400 municipalities, levy their own taxes based on the cantonal constitutions and Federal Constitution.
0:44 Taxes are levied on these three levels of taxation: Federal, Cantonal, and Municipal Level. In this table you can see the direct taxes levied at each level. At the Confederation level you pay income taxes. At the cantonal level you pay income taxes and wealth tax. At the Commune level you pay municipal income tax and wealth tax, and in addition you get charged for services they render like for the fire brigade or any other services. Of course if you are happy to avoid the fire brigade charge, you can join the club.
1:23 In addition, the parishes of the three national churches (Roman Catholic, Protestant and Christ Catholic) levy taxes on their members in almost all of the cantons and usually on the local businesses.
