VIC 32 'CLYDE PUFFER' - CLYDEBANK, MAY 2010
VIC 32 is the last seagoing coal fired steam 'Clyde Puffer'. She was built in 1943 and has been well known for the last 30 years on the West Coast of Scotland.
Filmed here as it paid a visit to the Titan Crane, Clydebank. The ship takes up to 12 passengers who eat and sleep on board for several days as they sail to various islands and along the Clyde.

Clyde-built: a walking tour of Clydebank (photos)
Clydebank is the home of some of the world's finest-built ocean liners, and tens of millions of Singer sewing machines. However, during World War II, it tragically became the worst-blitzed town in all of Scotland. It has also borne actors (for example, James Cosmo), artists, athletes, entrepreneurs (Duncan Bannatyne OBE), film-makers, and musicians (Wet Wet Wet).
Launching at 11:00 on Saturday, 01 May 2010, is 'Clyde-built: a walking tour of Clydebank,' a 90-minute audio-visual walking tour led by a friendly tour guide. It is the creation of award-winning film-maker, Iain McGuinness, director of Post-Blitz Clydebank and Clydebank Through A Lens.
In May, June, September and October, the walking tours will take place twice per day; on every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, from 11:00 to 12:30, and from 15:00 to 16:30.
In July and August (peak season), the walking tours will take place up to three times per day; on every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, from 11:00 to 12:30, and from 15:00 to 16:30, and then from 17:00 to 18:30.
Beginning at Queens' Quay (site of the former John Brown & Co. shipyard), each walking tour lasts approximately 90 minutes, and costs only £6 per adult walker (16 or over; £3 concession; i.e., 10- to 15-year-olds, and 60 or over). Included in the price, are mid-journey light refreshments of orange juice, tea / coffee, and shortbread.
The locations visited include: Atlas Street and Cunard Street (former Clydebank Riverside train station); Glasgow Road and Argyll Road (Kizil Mansions); Glasgow Road and Argyll Road (Sue Jane Taylor's sculpture, Kromer Hat); Hume Street (former Clydebank Co-op offices and hall); Chalmers Street and Sylvania Way South (Clydebank Co-op department store); Sylvania Way South (Salvation Army Citadel); Alexander Street (Baptist Church); Bruce Street (former swimming baths); Dumbarton Road and Hall Street (Clydebank Town Hall (and Clydebank Museum)); Hall Street (former fire station); Hall Street and Dumbarton Road (Morrison Memorial Church); Dumbarton Road (Clydebank Library); Miller Street and Dumbarton Road (Solidarity Plaza); Kilbowie Road (site of the former Clydebank School); The canal and Business Park (site of the former Singer's factory); Clyde Shopping Centre; McMonagles Fish Restaurant (the world's first sail-through fish-and-chip shop); John Crosby's sculpture, Bankies' Bike; and Stanford Street (site of the former Stanford Chemical Works).

Watch sickening moment masked gang attack defenceless teens in Clydebank McDonald's
This is the moment a pair of defenceless teenagers are brutally assaulted in a Clydebank McDonald's by a masked gang of thugs.
The two youths, one of whom is just 14 years old, were sitting in the restaurant at around 8pm when a group of 'around 15' entered the premises.
With their faces covered, the offenders walked up to the idle group and began the vicious attack on two of the boys.
The shocking footage, thought to have been filmed by someone in the offending group, shows a flurry of punches being dealt to the boys' heads and stomachs as they attempt to protect their faces.
One of the victim's mothers' sent the sickening video to The Evening Times, and said she hopes it acts as a warning to other families in the area.
I've lived in Clydebank all my life, and I've never dealt with anything like this, she said. People need to know what's going on in our community.
The boys were sitting in McDonald's, and the other boys were just clearly looking for a fight. They already had their faces covered.
The 14-year-old boy was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment, after he suffered a concussion and injuries to his face.
He got a massive fright, she said. He couldn't even fight back.
One of the other boys who was attacked suffered a panic attack last night. It's been horrible.
The McDonald's staff were allegedly forced to lock the doors after they told the violent group to leave, and quickly tended to the victims' injuries.
I can't thank the girls at the counter enough, explained the boy's mother. They were probably terrified, but did everything they could to help.
And the mother says hospital staff were 'relieved' the boy had only been targeted with fists, and said his injuries could have been catastrophic.
I hope everyone is just on their guard from now on, she said. Our boy is really shaken up, and it's just as well they were only hitting him with his fists.
Stuff like this doesn't happen here. I'm never one to name and shame, but this incident is different.
I would hate to see another mum from the area in this position tomorrow.
At least this makes people aware of what's going on.
Police Scotland confirmed they were called out to the assault.
A spokesman said: We received a report of an assault at around 8pm last night.
Enquiries are ongoing.

I am sorry to say that I made a mistake in saying the QE2 and all the large ships were built on the West side of the yard. In fact they were built where I was standing which is the East yard.

Pictures show the Clydebank Yard of John Brown, where another great ship is to be built. Clydebank is famous for its great ship among them Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth. Now more than 25 years later another is to replace Queen Mary. Many months of work have gone into the design of the ship (known only as Q4 at the moment), which is due to be completed in 1968.
