Men's Hockey Highlights- Regina 2, UBC 1 (01/06/16)
Mitch Kilgore had an early blemish but was perfect for the remainder of the evening as the University of Regina men's hockey team downed the UBC Thunderbirds 2-1 at The Co-operators Centre on Saturday night. After a quick first period goal, Kilgore settled down and made 28 saves to earn his third win of the Canada West campaign.
Regina's new Peak Performance Hockey Training Centre
Hockey players in Regina have a new place to train. The Peak Performance Hockey Training Centre is now open on the second floor of the Co-Operators Centre. The facility lets players of all ages and skill levels work on their stick-handling, skating, and shooting.

The best curlers in the world will fill the Co-operator's Centre at Evraz Place when the Tour Challenge, the first event of the Pinty's Grand Slam of Curling season, comes to Regina from Sept. 5-10. The announcement was made at the Co-operator's Centre on Thursday during a press conference.

Pipeline safety has dominated headlines in recent years but has this overshadowed other safety-sensitive parts of the oil supply chain in Canada?
Although Canada’s oil refineries continue to face economic challenges, the sector remains profitable with new capacity being added in various provinces. With additional expansion, maintaining a high commitment to refinery process safety is critical for preventing leaks, fires, and explosions. Recent events at the Co-op Refinery Complex (CRC) in Regina, Saskatchewan, demonstrate the significant occupational safety, reputational, and legal consequences of inadequate attention to managing process safety.
This Enbridge Research in Action seminar sheds light on the importance of operational safety and social license in the oil refining sector using the Co-op Refinery Complex as a case study.
About the speaker:
Sean Tucker, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Hill School of Business at the University of Regina. He completed his PhD from the Queen’s School of Business in 2010 with a focus on occupational safety. His research focuses on CEO influences on safety culture and employee well being.
Tucker provides consulting support to the Saskatchewan Workers’ Compensation Board, Injury Prevention department, and he engages on safety-related consulting projects with public and private sector organizations.

SJHL Presents: The 2018 SJHL/MJHL Showcase
The Saskatchewan Jr A Hockey League and the Manitoba Jr A Hockey League are proud to announce the 1st MJHL/SJHL Showcase.
The Showcase will be held at the Co-operators Centre in Regina, January 15th and 16th, 2018.
The Showcase will feature the top 60 players from each league. The 3 teams from each league will consist of players from the ages 16 to 20 years of age selected by the coaches of their own leagues.
Kim Davis, the Commissioner of the Manitoba Jr A Hockey League stated, “The MJHL is extremely excited about the opportunity to collaborate with the SJHL by showcasing the top players in our league in a new event that gives our players a chance to showcase their skills and abilities for Scouts from all higher levels of hockey. When discussing what the league could do to promote its players even more than it currently does, the two leagues jointly determined that an event such as this would fit the need for player and Scouts.”
