Cob Records - How A Record Shop in Wales Built My Collection
Come back with me on a journey to a Welsh seaside town in the 1970s, where I discovered the independent record shop Cob Records. Over a long sequence of holidays stretching through childhood, adolescence and adult-hood, I added many, many classic records to my collection. In this video I show just the ones which still feature the trademark yellow Cob Records sticker in the top right-hand corner. The video features photos and video footage of the beautiful scenery in and around Porthmadog in West Wales.
Thanks for watching.

Ffestiniog Railway Part 2 - Wales Trip 2017
Part 2 begins at Blaenau Ffestiniog awaiting the up train to arrive, once it does we observe the run round before departing down the hill as far as Tan-y-Bwlch, where we break the journey, first watching an up train depart for Blaenau Ffestiniog, before waiting for the same train to arrive back down again, continuing our journey back to Porthmadog as the sun gets lower in the sky. At Porthmadog we observe a bit of the shunting before the locomotive heads off to the sheds at Boston Lodge.

Welsh Highland Railway: Quarry Power 16 September 2012 Part 2
The second of a 2-part video covering the Sunday of the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways' Quarry Power event on 16 September 2012.
Having operated a trip to Minffordd, Hunslet 2-4-0ST+T Blanche and Hudswell Clarke 0-6-0WT Bronllywd arrive over the Cob into Porthmadog Harbour Station. On arrival, the passengers alight, and the train is shunted into onto the storage roads alongside the platform.
Next, we see NGG16 Garratt No.143 heading over Britannia Bridge, out of the station towards Canaerfon. Meanwhile, having finished its turn of duty, Baguley 0-6-0 diesel Cricceth Castle retires to the far siding for the time being.
Next to arrive was 1879-built Double Fairlie 0-4-4-0T Merddin Ermys, seen approaching over the Cob. The locomotive is then seen at the other end of the station being replenished on coal and water, and then running round, and backing down onto its train.
I could not, frankly, record the train's departure as the damp air had got into my video camera, so I could not play back what I had recorded.
The final shot, using the video camera is of Bronllwyd and Blanche crossing Britannia Bridge for Pont Croesor.
Later, I was able to capture a bit more footage using my trusty digital camera that I use for still photographs.
One of the main attractions of the day was a quadrulpe-header between Pont Croesor andPorthmadog, seen over Britannia Bridge once again with locos: Bronllwyd, Britomart and the Penrhyn girls Linda and Blanche in charge, all whistling as they made the crossing (even the waiting traffic joined in!).
The train is then reversed into the sidings in the station.
A while later, Merrdin Ermys is seen again, departing Harbour Station for Blaenau Ffestiniog. The Penrhyn duo then move forawrd to draw stock out of the station.
Our final shot was taken later on, with Eigiau and Linda making the crossing over Britannia Bridge into the station
