#Cobh #Ireland Cobh - Ireland ????????
Cobh (pronounced 'cove') is a charming waterfront town on a glittering estuary, dotted with brightly coloured houses and overlooked by a splendid cathedral. It's popular with Corkonians looking for a spot of R&R, and with cruise liners – each year around 90 visit the port, the second-largest natural harbour in the world (after Sydney Harbour in Australia).
It's a far cry from the harrowing Famine years when more than 70,000 people left Ireland through the port in order to escape the ravages of starvation (from 1848 to 1950, no fewer than 2.5 million emigrants passed through). Cobh was also the final port of call for the Titanic; a poignant museum commemorates the fatal voyage's point of departure.
Once known as Queenstown, after the visit of Queen Victoria in 1849.
Cobh is on the south side of Great Island. Visible from the waterfront are Haulbowline Island, once a naval base, and the greener Spike Island, formerly a prison and now a tourist attraction.

Cork’s harbour town of Cobh has been named one of the 25 most beautiful small towns in Europe by the international travel bible Condé Nast Traveler.
Cobh was ranked with Hvar, in Croatia, Interlaken, in Switzerland, and the Cinque Terre village of Vernazza, in Italy, as a must-visit destination for anyone trying to avoid the tourist crowds. Other postcard-pretty spots on the list include Rye, in England, Bled, in Slovenia, and Assos, on the Greek island of Cephalonia.

COBH, IRELAND: The Titanic Experience | TRAVEL VLOG
We journeyed to the tiny, quaint, seaside town of Cobh, Ireland to see The Titanic Experience Museum. You're given a passenger's boarding card, and you tour the museum in the footsteps of that passenger and of the first and last passengers to leave Ireland from Cobh to travel to America. At the end, you find out if you survived. It was very well done, interesting, and poignant. Plus, the town was adorable!

Titanic's Last Stop, Queenstown, Cobh, Cork
Queenstown, now Cobh, a stunning seaport town in Cork on the south coast of Ireland, was also the Titantic's final stop on its last and tragic voyage across the Atlantic. A total of 123 of Titanic's passengers boarded at Queenstown - only 44 survived the sinking of the Titanic. The last local Titanic survivor was from Cork (Ellen Shine) - she passed away at the age of 98 in 1993.
Dedicated to the memory of Captain Colm Morrissy (Master Mariner) whose seafaring journey ended - as Cork Harbour Pilot - in his beloved Cobh on September 3rd 2014.

Cobh Heritage Museum
The Cobh Heritage Museum is home to one of the world's leading exhibitions on the story of the Titanic. They came to us looking for a way to bring the book of Father Browne's unique photographs of the liner to life in a digital format. We designed and installed a plinth style kiosk with a 32 screen and which allowed users to browse through the book by turning the pages on screen.

Cobh Ireland Drone Tour
Cobh Ireland in County Cork tour by Drone. Known as Queenstown from 1849 until 1920. We spent a couple nights in Cobh at the Commodore Hotel and enjoyed the little town and checked out the Titanic Experience and St. Colman's church which is one of the tallest buildings in Ireland. The Titanic Experience was a nice tour given that Cobh (Queenstown) was the last place the Titanic docked before heading out to it's fateful trip to sea. Cobh is pronounced Cove.
Cobh Ireland was also the departure point for about 2.5 million Irish that emigrated to the United States between 1848 and 1950. If you have Irish ancestry, it is very likely that they departed from Cobh.
Like many small Irish towns it is very alive during the day but after around 5 or 6pm most everything shuts down except for the pubs/restaurants.
I am a little disappointed in the Drone footage as I think there was an incorrect setting and the footage is not super clear. Unfortunately I was not able to see the issue until I returned to the US, but it will still give you a good idea of the beauty of Cobh Ireland.
