Cochrans, Richmond, VT: VISCERAL
One of my favorite trails in Chittenden County, Vermont. The steep, techy, roots and rocks of this trail make it so much fun. I love starting my run at the prayer flags. I try and say a prayer for those less fortunate, the way me dad taught me to before every meal as a kid.

BarbaraCochran
Barbara Cochran is a member of the famous Skiing Cochrans family. Cochran's Ski Area was established in 1961 when Mickey and Ginny Cochran purchased an old hillside farm along the Winooski River in Richmond, Vermont. Transforming the land with the family's hard work and Mickey's gifts as a mechanical engineer, the ski area consisted of a couple of backyard trails and a short rope tow so their children and neighbors could enjoy skiing and race training.
In the next decade, the ski area helped put all four of the Skiing Cochrans on the road to Olympic and World Cup success as members of the United States Ski Team, which Mickey coached during the 1973/74 ski season. Barbara Ann captured the Olympic gold medal in slalom in 1972 and the facility grew to four lifts and eight slopes attracting a loyal contingent of children and families from around Vermont.
Cochran also has her own business, Golden Opportunities in Sports, Business, and Life, which teaches people how to handle the pressures of competition, work, academics, and any other obstacles that life throws at you.

BARBARA CORCHRAn Sapporo 1972 Slalom
Barbara Ann Cochran (born January 4, 1951) is a former World Cup alpine ski racer and Olympic gold medalist from the United States.[1]
Born in Claremont, New Hampshire, Cochran was the second of four siblings of the famous Skiing Cochrans family of Richmond, Vermont, which has operated a small ski area in their backyard since 1961. Her father, Gordon Mickey Cochran, was a longtime coach, coaching youngsters of the Smuggler's Notch Ski Club, the University of Vermont Ski Team, and the U.S. Ski Team. The family has placed several generations of athletes on the U.S Ski Team: three-time national champion sister Marilyn, Barbara Ann, nine-time national champion brother Bob, and two-time national champion sister Lindy. The family's next generation includes niece Jessica Kelley, nephews Jimmy Cochran, Roger Brown, Tim Kelley, Robby Kelley, and son, Ryan Cochran-Siegle.
After retiring from competitions, Cochran graduated from college in Vermont, married Mr. Williams, and published her book Skiing for Women. She eventually became a writer for The Washington Post.[1]
Cochran now lives in her home in Starksboro, working hard on her own business, Golden Opportunities in Sports, Business, and Life, which teaches people how to handle the pressures of competition, work, academics, and any other obstacles that life throws at you. She is also working on a book that should soon be up and running. Cochran was inducted into the National Ski Hall of Fame in 1976, later joined by siblings Marilyn (1978) and Bob (2010). In 1979, the Supersisters trading card set was produced and distributed; one of the cards featured Cochran's name and picture.[2] Cochran was also inducted into the then-recently established Vermont Sports Hall of Fame in 2013.

Time-Lapse Tuesday | Emgee Events Tent Set Up | Vermont Climbing Festival |
On this episode of Mr. Perry Vlogs, Owner/Operator of Emgee Events, Invited Chad and myself out to the Vermont Climbing Festival. Mainly so we could help him set up/tear down his very large, and heavy event tent. NOTE: we do not climb in this video, we're not climbers although most downhill skaters eventually move onto climbing (not this guy, ill evolve into downhill luge before I climb) At night we stayed at this really cool place to, a bed and breakfast (without the breakfast) called The Black Barn Inn. They have a large stream and water fall right in the back yard, accompanied by show of laser lights at night, witch provided some cool night photos at the end of the video. Thanks for watching and don't forget to click the links below for my other social medias and gear!

Sticky subject: U.S. skier Ryan Cochran-Siegle knows his maple syrup
Not to pour it on too thick, but U.S.Olympic ski racer Ryan Cochran-Siegle definitely knows his maple syrup.Members of his family own about 20,000 maple trees near Richmond, Vermont, and he's been known to help from time to time with boiling it into syrup. No sticky subject here: Cochran-Siegle will tell you every detail of how his family's company, Slopeside Syrup, goes about making the sweet goodness. They need about 66 percent sugar content out of their maple syrup and use reverse osmosis machines to filter out the water. It requires around 40 gallons of sap to create about one gallon of syrup. There's a side benefit to helping out, too _ when they're boiling the syrup, he has to take plenty of shots of syrup. To make sure it's still good, which it is, Cochran-Siegle cracked.Turns out, he's also pretty sweet on his skis as well. Then again, he comes from quite the skiing lineage. His mom, Barbara Ann Cochran, was the 1972 Olympic slalom winner. His cousins include Jimmy Cochran, who was a former U.S.ski team member. The 25-year-old Cochran-Siegle made his Olympic debut in the Alpine combined on Tuesday, hitting a gate with his hand and falling to the snow.He didn't finish the first leg.He still has races in the giant slalom and possibly the super-G.Back to syrup: Ask Cochran-Siegle about how the good brands seem to be more watery and he will set you straight. No, no, no, that's a misconception, he said.I'll run it down: Early in the season, when the trees are starting to run, there's more sugar in the sap and you don't have to boil it down as much. It's clearer, so it looks like it's more water. There's actually the same amount of sugar content. He understands when people sometimes go to the grocery store and reach for, say, Log Cabin or Mrs.Butterworth's.They're missing out, he maintains.Coming from the East, I just prefer (pure) maple syrup, Cochran-Siegle said.

Mardi Gras Parade in Breckenridge
Every year GoBreck puts on a parade to get the town of Breckenridge into the spirit of Mardi Gras. Hundreds came out to watch the festivities as floats paraded down Main Street. Beads were thrown, smiles were out and we even got a bit of snow adding to the celebration.
