Cockington Green Gardens - Nicholls, Canberra
If your ever in Canberra you need to checkout this attraction out. Give yourself at least 2 hours as there are quite a lot to see. Opened in 1979, my first visit was in the early 80's and a lot has been added since then.
Cockington Green is a large Garden with a large winding footpath through Miniature houses and buildings from around the world, each one in scaled to detail, you'd need to look closely at the attention to detail with not just the
building but its surroundings, including miniature bonsai trees, bushes, well trimmed mini hedges, miniature lawns and fantastically landscaped garden. Fortunately I brought along my Nikon DSLR for close up shots, the pictures look amazing.
A lot of the displays have push buttons, that move model wind mills, model trains model boats, cable car and a mind shaft. Use the observation deck for a birds eye view of the garden. Take a mini steam engine train ride around the park.
Eat at their Cafe or bring a picnic basket and enjoy the garden. Before you leave have a browse through the souvenir shop and while your there check out one of the largest doll house in the world, fully furnished. This visit was in 2011,
sorry bout the jerky low res video filmed with my JVC. Enjoy your trip, we did.
