Coconut Sugar Farm
This is a Coconut Sugar Farm we made a quick stop at on 11/28/2016. This was during our travels in Damnone Saduak, Thailand. We got to see how they make it. Plus all the many uses and creations from the coconut. Also looked through the gift shop and walked around where they farm the product.
Floating Market Bangkok Thailand Damnoen Saduak - Part 1 - Bkk Trip Part 13
Floating Market Bangkok Thailand Damnoen Saduak
Damnoen Saduak floating market, one of Thailand's most well-known tourist attractions. The market gets its name from the canal that it sits upon, the canal was dug in the reign of King Rama IV by soldiers from 3 provinces, Ratchaburi, Samutsakorn and Samutsongkram to connect 2 of Thailand's main rivers, kickstarting the country's economic growth. Our journey takes you from the busy capital to the tranquil countryside just two hours out of Bangkok passing rice fields and salt farms along the way and after a short stop at a local coconut sugar factory we arrive at the jetty to transfer to long-tailed boat that takes you into the heart of Damnoen Saduak floating market.

BANGKOK DAY 3 VLOG
BKK Day 3 20 May 2018 (Sun):
-Taxi ride out of Bangkok
-Damnoen Saduak Floating Market
-CentralWorld & Mookata for dinner!
One of the highlights of our bkk trip was the visit to the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, that is situated at the Ratchaburi Province, about 100km outside Bangkok. Though many claim that it has become a tourist trap over the years, this was indeed an experience for the city girl like me! There were floating stalls selling souvenirs, food, drinks, etc.. It was a first time for me, bargaining and making purchases all on the boat! We only set foot on the Coconut Sugar Farm and a buddhist temple, and everything else - eating, drinking, sightseeing, purchasing/negotiating prices --- all on our boat!
We stopped by a Coconut Sugar Farm.. to admire the limitless wonders and uses of every part of the coconut tree --- making into drinks, oils, sugar, soap, souvenirs like bowls, lamps, carvings etc. How creative! We also got some hands-on moments making the coconut sugar, and tasted some hot sugar that were just made! Before the speedboat tour ended, we prayed at a buddhist temple by the waters.
How can we miss Mookata in Thailand right? We had mookata for dinner at CentralWorld shopping mall at night!
The vlogs captured so many moments where my (chirpy, and maybe annoying) laughters pierced the air - laughing away like some monkey.

Foating Market Bangkok
Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Damnoen Saduak is the most popular floating market in Thailand, great for photo opportunities, food, and for giving you an insight into a bygone way of life. An early morning start is worth it to avoid the heat and catch Damnoen Saduak at its liveliest. Most visitors who come to Thailand want to visit a floating market and many of them will end up here. Don’t let that put you off though, it’s an enjoyable morning out of the city and if you avoid the tourist shops you can get a real sense of the place. The market is over two hours outside Bangkok, and the easiest way to get there is to join a tour.
The bus leaves Bangkok just after 07:00. Our chatty and cheerful guide gives us a potted history of Thailand and points out the interesting sites as we whizz out into the provinces. High rises are quickly replaced by salt farms and lush countryside. First stop is an Orchid Farm and coconut producer. It is impressive how many uses there are for coconuts and the small workshop has managed to turn the entire tree into a business, young shoots boiled for palm sugar, squeezed for oil, lampshades, ladders, and even fuelling their fires with the husks. Next to this hive of activity (beware of the sugar-hungry bees) the orchids seem less exciting, but it is still beautiful to see them in their natural habitat, especially if you are used to seeing them on window-sills in plastic tubs.
After this brief stop, it’s only a ten-minute drive to the pier to hop onto decorated long-tail boats that are waiting to take you to the market. The roar of the engine disturbs the quiet as the boat glides down the narrow canals, small wooden houses on stilts fringe the banks, some with larger ponds than lawns. The boat driver slows down to let you appreciate the winding waterways and get a brief glimpse of those who live on the river. The journey takes around 20 minutes and it’s great to enjoy the peace before the hectic pace of the market. It may feel overcrowded at first glance, but visitors and sellers bring noise and colour to the area.
Stepping off the boat, you find yourself amongst the busy stalls selling similar products to those you can find at Chatuchak weekend market, small toy elephants, tiger balm and the compulsory ‘I was here’ T-shirts. It’s not surprising to find this at the most famous floating market in Thailand and it can feel a little commercialised but if you walk further, you will find the food-sellers, who not only look more photogenic, but also have some far tastier goods. Unlike most of the other floating markets, the popularity of Damnoen Saduak attracts many fruit sellers rowing their boats along the narrow canals, meaning that you’re guaranteed great pictures. There is plenty of tasty food to try along the docks, from freshly-made mini coconut pancakes to boat noodles in their rich meaty broth. We were given plenty of time to wander around, taste some local produce and take plenty of pictures. Damnoen Saduak is the most popular market for a good reason; it guarantees the floating market experience, even if it doesn’t always feel authentic.

Floating Market Bangkok Thailand and Coconut Farm and banana plantation
The tour itself was an all-day tour; we would drive to the first of 3 markets and then ride a bike from the first stop to the other markets, so it was a day filled with sightseeing and physical activity which is something I am always looking for. When we arrived at the our first thailand floating market Tha Kha floating market . Amphawa Floating Market and Damnoen Saduak Floating Market were the other two markets as you can see the first one is the most authentic
