What does the library mean to you?
Jessica McLeod tells us what the library means to them.
Nova Scotia’s Public Libraries are in Crisis.
In the past 8 years, core operating funding for
public libraries increased once, by less than 1%.
Collections, programs for all ages, services, and
staffing have already been reduced.
With rising costs and no additional core funding,
Nova Scotia’s libraries are left with few options but
to:
-further reduce collections and programs
-eliminate much needed community services
-reduce open hours
-cut staffing
-eliminate rural access to library services
-close library branches
Please ask your candidate “Will you and your party
commit to increased core funding for public
libraries” and let them know that libraries are
important to you, your family &
your community!
Help make Public Libraries and Important Issue
During this Election!
