Currency
Britain’s currency is the pound sterling (£), which is divided into 100 pence (p).
Scotland has its own pound sterling notes. These represent the same value as an English note and can be used elsewhere in Britain. The Scottish £1 note is not accepted outside Scotland.
There are lots of bureaux de change in Britain – often located inside:
• banks
• travel agents
• Post Offices
• airports
• major train stations.
It's worth shopping around to get the best deal and remember to ask how much commission is charged.

During the winter months, Britain is on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), which is 5 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time and 10 hours behind Sydney. Western standard time is five hours behind.
From late March until late October, the clocks go forward one hour to British Summer Time (BST).

Passport And Visas Requirements To Enter The UK
Please note: Following the recent referendum vote for the UK to leave the European Union (EU), there are currently no changes in the way people travel to Britain. The following guidelines still apply:
If you're planning an adventure to the UK, depending on your nationality and your reason for visiting, you may need to organise a visa.
If you're an American, Canadian or Australian tourist, you'll be able to travel visa-free throughout the UK, providing you have a valid passport and your reason for visiting meets the immigration rules (link is external).
Citizens from some South American and Caribbean countries as well as Japan are also able to travel visa-free around the UK.
European Union citizens, non-EU member states of the EEA (Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland), Switzerland, and members of the Overseas Countries and Territories (OCT) do not need a visa to enter the UK.
If you have any further visa questions visit the official UK government website.

Elizabeth Krause
Miss Elizabeth Krause
Holy Cross Lutheran School, Madison, WI
In the final race in her battle with cancer, Elizabeth Krause, age 48, crossed the finish line into the arms of Jesus, surrounded by her family, on Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, in Madison.
She was born on Nov. 4, 1965, to Robert and Carol Krause, in Rhinelander. She was baptized into Christ as an infant, attended Zion Evangelical Lutheran School, K-8, and confirmed in her faith on March 20, 1980. Beth graduated from Rhinelander High School in 1984, and Bethany Lutheran Junior College in Mankato, Minn., in 1986. She then attended UW-Madison, where she received her teaching degree in elementary education. Beth taught in public school briefly and then accepted a call to teach at Holy Cross Lutheran Church and School, where she taught for 22 years until the time of her illness.
Beth loved teaching and her students were her family. She was kind and loving to all she met and had friends from England, Germany, India and South Korea. Beth loved to travel and toured Italy with her high school Latin club. She practice-taught in Peterborough, England, taught a year in the Czech Republic and participated in an archeological dig in Israel one summer. Beth also taught one summer in the Ukraine and visited Vietnam, Tokyo and Ireland. She enjoyed sports, but learned at an early age that basketball was not for her. She found her niche in running and biking. Beth competed in numerous marathons, including Chicago and Boston. She finished the Madison Ironman four times in 2005, 2006, 2011 and 2013, finishing well in her age group.
Beth is survived by her parents; and five siblings, Katherine (Jeff) Kroh of Brooklyn Park, Minn., and their children, Lydia, Danika, Elliana, Haley and Samara; Mary (Ken) Nofftz of LaCrosse, and their children, Devyn and Jacob Aschenbrenner and Jesse, Morgan, Jarett and Seth Nofftz; Lisa (Steve) Alsteen, and their children, Tanner and Tayler; Diane (Eric) Keller of Gilbert, Ariz.; and David (Davina) Krause, and their daughter, Alivia. She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents; an aunt, Dorothy Lehman; uncle, Edward Waterbury; and cousin, Michael Smith.
Kids with Guns: UK's Army Cadet Force (Full Length)
In a new episode of Rule Britannia, VICE joins the UK's Army Cadet Force and asks what the youth club can give British kids who may not have a lot else.
The Army Cadet Force has over 46,000 cadets from the ages of 12 to 18, training in 1,700 detachments all over the country. The super low-cost club evenings and training camps equip teenagers with discipline and skills in everything from orienteering and military knowledge to weaponry, first aid, and sports.
Smartly uniformed and proudly representing Queen and Country, the young cadets are taught to embody British values. The theory that cadet activities could keep youth on the right track has seen huge government funding allocated to expand the cadets by next year.
