Today I will take you for Rainforest Hiking Adventure in the Colo–i-Suva Rainforest Park. If you make the trip to our far away South Pacific Islands of Fiji in the Suva area, this where this peaceful slice of paradise is located. The forest is beautiful with amazing pools where local boys swing and jump in like Tarzans.
On October 24, 2018 Prince Harry officially opened this Rainforest park, and he planted a tree right here. This is where our hike through the rainforest begins.
Let’s follow the zigzagging nature trails along this crystal clear river with numerous small waterfalls and cool natural swimming pools, which come in handy should you wish to take a dip to cool off on a warm steamy day.
Colo-i-Suva is a national park that is safe, unpolluted with no harmful critters set in serene and peaceful surroundings amidst a spectacular rainforest making this a perfect spot for a picnic by the stream under the canopy of trees.
The numerous pools scattered around the rainforest park interspersed with switchback tracks gives the feeling that you could get lost in this forest so some folks become hesitant to proceed further into unknown areas. That is just part of the “exploring” fun of this interesting cavern of trees called a rainforest. Then as you patrol along you will hear shrieks of laughter and splashing around. One of the larger pools has a wonderful attraction where instead of a diving board, there is a long rope tied to an overhead tree that bends when the playful Fijian boys jump on the flying rope to ride out and into the middle of the pool; then they let go and some summersault and back flip into the blue, leaving a large boiling of bubbles where they dove deep. And for those with a penchant for more risky and adventurous dives, some till climb high into the tree that bends over the pool and three at a time they jump into the caldron of water, spraying far and wide as they collide with the water’s surface with a huge smack.

Colo I Suva Forest Park
Colo-i-Suva is a national park in Fiji that boasts a crystal clear river set in serene and peaceful surroundings amidst a spectacular rain forest making this a perfect spot for a cool dip. It offers hiking trails, swimming, and birdwatching. The forest is part of the Queen's Commonwealth Canopy.
Colo-i-Suva Forest Park - Colo-i-Suva Forest National Park in Fiji
Established in 1872, Colo-i-Suva Forest National Park in Fiji is a two and a half square kilometres of verdant rain-forests renowned for tropical flora and birds. There are about four and a half kilometres of natural trails ploughing through the forests and natural water bodies to swim in.
The Waisila Creek flows through the Colo-i-Suva Forest National Park in Fiji making its way to Waimanu River. It is the water catchment for Nausori and Nasinu creek. More info please go to:

Fijian Minister for Forestry launches Colo-i-Suva Forest Park Wildlife book
Minister for Forestry Hon. Osea Naiqamu together with the University of the South Pacific launched the first ever Colo-i-Suva Forest Park Wildlife book at the Fiji Museum in Suva.
The launching of the book is a much necessary foundation for environmental and educational awareness for students, members of the public, tourists and researchers.
“The book intends to provide a visitor to the park with an enriching experience in better knowing and appreciating its wildlife,” Minister Naiqamu said.
The book is a snapshot view of Fiji’s conservation of the flora and fauna and how the conservation of Colo-i-Suva forest has led to the rich biodiversity that exists within this Forest Park.

Iris and I spent the morning, until the rain became too much, exploring Colo-i-Suva Forest Park. It is a wonderful rain forest right outside of Suva, the capital of Fiji. We loved the flora and I love the waterfalls. Somebody else was not a big fan of the cold water!
QUICK COLO-I-SUVA SWIM
It was the last weekend of 2017 so Ema and i decided to hit the Colo-I-Suva rainforest and have a nice dip in cool waters since it was a really hot day. Not to mention Ema hadn't ever been there so this was a good chance to show her around .... BUT.... we got stuck in traffic ... so we had to cut our hike short. but nonetheless we had alot of Fun as always ! :)
Its located a Little passed Tamavua and its very cheap. its very save and very cheap. Only costs a $1 to get there for whoever is interested in hiking or swimming or like my gf says #waterfalling hehe
Ill be travelling all over Fiji this year showing you where u can go for cheap and the fun things u can do when living in a Pacific Islands Paradise with your family and friends and the Love of your life :)
