Shooting Legend Samaresh 'Goldfinger' Jung Practicing : Lessons for Budding Shooterz
Nicknamed 'Goldfinger' for his five Gold Medals at the 2006 Commonwealth Games, Air Pistol Indian Shooting Legend Samaresh Jung practices at the Karni Singh Ranges, Delhi, consistently hitting a string of perfect 10 shots.
Budding Shooters note his technique.. slowly lowering the pistol in perfect alignment with the target, then holding it for a brief period till the pistol is in perfect line.
Last is lowering the pistol in line with the bull and holding it steady, then releasing the shot when the aim is perfect.
Note the squeezing of the trigger, you almost do not realise when the finger softly does its job when the gun is stable and pointed at the target.
Also note the brief lapse in concentration - he would rather start the shot afresh than risk a poor shot even if everything else may seem perfect.
