Through Ice and Time is a poetic journey through the pristine Columbia Icefield of Jasper National Park.
The story is experienced through the memories of an old man, returning to the nature he discovered as a young boy and later explored as an adult climber.
Shot in striking high definition, this short story is told entirely through visuals and music, rather than dialog. As such, it has universal appeal, and can be interpreted in different ways by different viewers.
It deals with themes of inspiration, loss, friendship, coming of age, harmony with nature, mountain adventure, stewardship, and the power of childhood experiences.

Author/speaker and longtime group travel host Charlie Adams shows you what it is like to get in one of the massive Brewster Ice Explorers (the tires are $5000 each) for excursion onto the surface of the Athabasca Glacier, where one wrong step and you could plunge into a crevass where you would freeze to death before rescue workers could get to you.

The Columbia Icefield is the largest ice field in the Rocky Mountains. Located in the Canadian Rockies astride the Continental Divide along the border of British Columbia and Alberta, Canada, the ice field lies partly in the northwestern tip of Banff National Park and partly in the southern end of Jasper National Park.
Glacier Skywalk has a 1km walkway leads visitors to a glass-floor observation platform overlooking a 280m drop.

Here's a quick spin in my Quest at the Columbia Icefield's Athabasca Glacier in Jasper National Park, Canada
Visiting Columbia Icefield Glacier, Jasper, Alberta, Canada
Columbia Icefield Glacier is the must stop if you are driving on Icefields Parkway to get to Jasper. The place gets pretty crowded with tourists but if you go later during the day or early in a morning you shouldn’t have issues getting a parking spot right at the bottom of the short hike to the glacier. This glacier is melting more and more each year and might disappear at some point in the future.
