Greater Toronto Philharmonic Orchestra at Columbus Centre
On March 3, 2012, the Greater Toronto Philharmonic Orchestra held its concert entitled Spring Pops all'Italiana at Columbus Centre. Under the direction of conductor David Fallis, and featuring soprano Aria Tesolin and violinist Entela Galanexhi, the orchestra performed a number of Italian-themed pieces by some of the world's most famous composers. This video was featured on the Italian news on OMNI.
Heritage Designation Ceremony of The Columbus Centre | TLN Connects
For almost 40 years, the Columbus Centre has been a cultural hub of Italian-Canadian heritage in Toronto, providing the Lawrence Heights community with a destination for recreational, social and cultural services. In 2019, the City of Toronto granted the property with a heritage designation, culminating in a special ceremony in December, attended by the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, Mayor Tory, Villa Charities, TLN Media Group and community partners and members.

TLN Media Group hosted “A TLN Experience at the Columbus Centre”, an intimate reception and dinner with beloved celebrity chef, author and entrepreneur, Lidia Bastianich and Canada’s globetrotting cultural explorer and TLN TV personality, David Rocco. The night was in celebration of TLN’s new headquarters at the Columbus Centre and to raise funds in support of Villa Charities in their mission to celebrate and promote Italian heritage, culture and provide support for senior care. The evening was inspired by Lidia’s original flagship restaurant with delicious Italian fare, an enlightening panel discussion and a successful auction to raise funds for Villa Charities.

Moving through a sequence of interactions with the actors and at different locations, the spectators are invited to gather, meet each other and build a new community, in an intimate performance experience. A portion of proceeds from ticket sales will help support Villa Charities Foundation in their mission to provide funding for culturally sensitive senior care, and educational and cultural programs in music, dance and visual arts.
