Chattahoochee RiverWalk - Columbus, Georgia
The whole family went over to Columbus, GA/Phenix City, AL, to ride our bikes down the Chattahoochee RiverWalk, alongside the Chattahoochee River (the border between Alabama and Georgia, in this section). We rode in probably the most heavily-traveled (bike, foot, and kayak traffic) section, and it was still a blast. If you're up for it, the path is 22 miles long, from Lake Oliver in the north to Fort Benning in the south (or vice versa). The trail is paved with asphalt, concrete, or brick. It's pretty much the same elevation, throughout, so it makes for a very easy ride. Due to the RiverWalk bike path, Columbus has been listed by the League of American Bicyclists as one of the forty most Bicycle Friendly Communities in the United States.
