[4K] PORTO WALKING TOUR (2019) PORTUGAL - Cais da Ribeira
Welcome to Porto Portugal - join us on this Porto 4K walking tour along the banks of the Rio Duoro. We start on a small walkway, lined with some of the romantic restaurants Porto is famous for, looking out across the glistening waters of the Rio Douro towards Vila Nova de Gaia on the opposite bank.
We cross the famous Praça da Ribeira porto (or Ribiera Square) and join the Cais Da Ribiera with it's colourful, lively street performers and some of the best Porto restaurants with a view that is known world wide.
The Bairro da Ribiera, with it's colourful tiled houses leads us towards the main feature - Ponte de D. Luís (Ponte Luis I bridge) - the double deck metal bridge that connects Porto with Vila Nova de Gaia across the Rio Duoro. And if you think it looks like it's neighbouring bridge, the Dona Maria Pia, then you won't be surprised to know that the Dona Maria was designed by non other than Gustave Eiffel (he of the Eiffel Tower, Paris fame.) The Ponte Luis I was designed by his colleague.
This slow TV city walk takes you along Cais da Ribeira - a Unesco World Heritage site and perhaps the top of the list of one of the top 10 things to do in Porto, and answers the question of what to see if you visit.

Porto has always been a mercantile city, and this is evident in the style of the buildings lining the Avenida dos Aliados, Residents of Porto are known as Tripeiros (tripe eaters) due to the fact that the city went without meat in order to provision the capital in 1415 so they had to subsist on tripe stew and this still a speciality of the city.

WALKING TOUR OF PORTO
Citizens of Porto hold themselves apart culturally from the South of the country, mainly Lisbon region. They often say that Porto works, Braga prays, Coimbra studies and Lisbon gets the money! The city is quite varied architecturally, with medieval as well as modern living side by side.

City break : Portugal : Porto - The Ribeira distric Dom Luis I Bridge on the Douro River from drone
Porto is the second-largest city in Portugal and one of the major urban areas of the Iberian Penisula. A gem in the North of Portugal famous for its Port wine, Porto is colourful city, cherished as a World Heritage Site. Its unique quirkiness is attributed to the jumble of styles and eras which make up its foundations. On top of this, the city is a lively hub for all ages, sharing a love of culture, food and music which makes a city break to Porto a popular destination for tourists year upon year.
The city boasts an extensive history, interesting tourist attractions and a buzzing nightlife. There is a lot to see and do in Porto.
Take the funicular to the top level and walk across - amazing views. Walk down the streets at the Gaia side of the river and visit the Port Houses. Cafes are cheaper this side of the river too.
The Ribeira district - The oldest district of the city which is filled with ancient houses, narrow cobbled streets and numerous family owned restaurants, cafes and bars.
The Dom Luís I Bridge is a double-deck metal bridge that spans the River Douro between the cities of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia in Portugal. At its construction, its 172 metres span was the longest of its type in the world. It has been confused with the nearby Maria Pia Bridge, a railway bridge that was built 9 years earlier.
There are trains that run in the middle of the bridge only a few feet from the walking area. That said, the walk across the bridge is worth the sights and sounds. The views from this Eiffel bridge are wonderful.
Walking through the streets of Porto — Porto, Portugal
Just a lovely day. I spend the day just walking around the streets of the beautiful city Porto in Portugal, enjoying the music, the vibe of the street and it's nice to see people just relaxing and enjoying the day. That place is close to the river. This is what I love about Porto, it's a city, but it feels like a suburban village. This area is very touristic, right in the heart of Porto, very close to the river. You can see the river just between those two buildings. It's very nice seeing that area for the first time and this was the the place where I saw the river for the second time, the first time was from the plane before we landed.

[4K] PORTO CITY, PORTUGAL (2019) Gaia walking tour
We're back in Porto Portugal - join us on this Porto City 4K walking tour through Vila Nove de Gaia, along the banks of the Rio Duoro. Keeping us company across the water is Cais da Ribiera and the square known as Praça da Ribeira, and ahead us beckons the Ponte de D. Luís (Ponte Luis I bridge) - the double deck metal bridge that connects Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia across the Rio Duoro.
We start in the backstreets near some of the famous Port wine cellars (Sandeman, Croft, Ramos Pinto and Quinta dos Corvos to name a few.) We head onto Cais de Gaia - cable cars (the Teleférico de Gaia) pass over our heads as they make their way to the station just beneath Jardim do Morro.
Along the banks, most of the large Port wine suppliers offer tastings and tours of their offices, and there's a great selection of restaurants and cafes to stop at and enjoy the view.
We finish this walk on the lower, pedestrian section of the Ponte Luis I bridge, looking west along the winding Rio Douro.
This Porto City 4K, slow TV walk takes you along the waterfront of Vila Nova de Gaia, home to many famous Port wine cellars. Definitely one of the top 10 things to do in Porto, especially if you're stuck on what to see if you visit.

[4K] São Bento Railway Station In Porto, Portugal Walking Tour
Let's follow each other on Instagram!
Here is a tour around the São Bento railway station in Porto, Portugal.
Wikipedia: ão Bento railway station (Portuguese: estação ferroviária de São Bento) is a 20th-century railway station in the civil parish of Cedofeita, Santo Ildefonso, Sé, Miragaia, São Nicolau e Vitória, in the municipality of Porto, district of Porto. The English translation of São Bento is Saint Benedict.[1] The station is located in the Historic Centre of Porto, which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site and as a National Monument of Portugal.[2]
This building was constructed over a number of years, starting in 1904, based on plans by architect José Marques da Silva. The large panels of azulejo tile were designed and painted by Jorge Colaç; they were completed in 1916 and the station was then inaugurated.[3] The murals represent moments in the country's history and the multicoloured panels depict rural scenes showing the people of various regions.

Porto is a coastal city in northwest Portugal known for its stately bridges and port wine production. In the medieval Ribeira (riverside) district, narrow cobbled streets wind past merchants’ houses and cafes. São Francisco Church is known for its lavish baroque interior with ornate gilded carvings. The palatial 19th-century Palácio de Bolsa, formerly a stock market, was built to impress potential European investors.

Porto City, Portugal - Cais da Ribeira Walking Tour ????????
Ribeira is one of the most popular neighbourhoods in Porto. It is one of the most authentic and picturesque parts of the city in the heart of the old town. As its name suggests, the district is situated on the riverbank (Ribeira in Portuguese stems from the word river).
Its colourful and wonderfully decorated façades are noteworthy and you’ll find that both the quaint terraced houses on the waterfront that reflect on the Douro River (which you can get a better view from Gaia) and the rest of the buildings further up in the little winding streets are equally pleasant.
