29 10 18 COMMONWEALTH WAR GRAVES INTERCESSION KANDY
Strong links between Great Britain and Sri Lanka and these are shown in intercession through Brian Mason as he stands by the Commonwealth War Graves in Kandy.
Upholding the original vision of Rees Howells in reaching every creature with the Gospel, the Gospel of the true Bible, not the Alexandrian counterfeits of the Emerging Church.

garrison cemetery srilanka
British Garrison Cemetery (also known as the Kandy Garrison Cemetery) is a British cemetery in Kandy, Sri Lanka, for British nationals who died in Ceylon. It was established in 1817 just after British captured the Kandy[1] and closed in 1873 due to a ban on burials within the municipal limits, although special provision was given to allow the burial of relatives of those interred in the cemetery, with last person buried there being Annie Fritz in 1951.[2] The cemetery contains 195 graves of men, women and children. The most common causes of death were tropical diseases such as malaria and cholera.
The cemetery was restored in 1998 using financial contributions from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission and is currently maintained by a group called 'The Friends of the British Garrison Cemetery in Kandy'.[3] The cemetery is located within the land of the Sri Dalada Maligawa, the cemetery is maintained by the British while the Diyawadana Nilame and the Chief Prelates maintain the land.[4]
Prince Charles made a visit to the graves in November 2013.[4]

Kandy - A World Heritage Site / Sri Lanka
Kandy, Sri Lanka
In the central region of Sri Lanka is located one of most beautiful destinations called Kandy. It is also termed as the country's cultural capital. UNESCO has declared Kandy as World Heritage Site as Kandy is the last kingdom of Sri Lanka. The British conquered it in 1815 but the living traditions of the region can still be seen here. The people of Kandy are extremely proud of the rich heritage of the region.
Buddhist values are well upheld by many of the Kandyians. A lot of immigrants live in Kandy and the situation has gradually seen a change. Tourist need to be careful about associating themselves with anyone and also take care of belongings. As compared to rest of the parts of Sri Lanka, Kandy proves to be quite a peaceful place. The rate of crime in this region is not much as compared to the other places in Sri Lanka.
At Kandy there are a number of interesting things to see. There are a number of holy shrines of Lord Buddha, the Pinnewala Elephant Orphanage which houses around 70 elephants that have been tamed, the Royal Botanical Gardens one of the best in Sri Lanka located at Peradeniya, University of Peradeniya, the Peradeniya Botanical gardens, the New Ranwell Spice Garden, Bahirawakanda Temple, the Tea Museum, Udawattakele Royal Forest Sanctuary, Commonwealth War Cemetery, Arthurs' Seat, and other ancient temples.
