The Tall Videographer - Como Lake Park, Coquitlam, BC
Ducks, for some reason, do not like my tall videocamera. When I raise the Pole-Cam up they up and leave - Quack, Quack, Quacking as they go. Como Lake Park in Coquitlam, BC is an easy ten to fifteen minute walk around the lake. Many people get their lunch-break constitutional walking around and around the lake. There are picnic areas, two playgrounds and two floating docks where seniors and children can try their luck with stocked trout. There is abundant bird life, uh, that is, it is more evident when my tall videocamera is not around. Mergansers, Pied-billed Grebes, Buffleheads, Goldeneyes, Canada Geese, Cormorants, Mallards and Great Blue Herons visit the lake.

This is just under 25 minutes from my house.
Como Lake is located in the heart of the city offering fishing, non powered boating, trails surrounding the lake and a playground for the little ones.
The geese and ducks are very human acclimated. Notice when I'm filming the trail two ducks walk up to an elderly lady on the bench, sit in front of her and expect something from her.

The largest park in Coquitlam, Mundy Park boasts two lakes, Mundy Lake and Lost Lake. There is hockey and basketball courts as well as several baseball diamonds. A public pool for the hot days. Hiking trails divide the densely forested park throughout giving a true sense of wilderness; when, in fact, the entire park is in the middle of a city.
