Inside Biman Bangladesh Airlines
This video follows my first video on-board Biman B777-300/ER from London to Dhaka. After I arrived in Dhaka, I was greeted by the crazy street scenes and i took time to explore around.
I was given a behind the scenes tour of the facilities of Biman Bangladesh Airlines. I visited Biman Bangladesh Airlines catering center, gaining an insight of their catering process. Then I visited Biman Bangladesh Airlines hangar, seeing how maintenance is done first hand.

In this trip report video, part two of our adventure in the Bangladesh capital of Dhaka and continuing on from our fabulous Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight on the Boeing 777-300ER from London to Dhaka via Sylhet, we take an exclusive and up-close look inside the on-the-ground Biman meal catering facility and factory as well as experiencing Bangladeshi culture, speaking with Biman flight engineers and, most importantly, meeting with you guys in a special Bangladeshi aviation enthusiasts’ meet and greet.
We experience the busy, chaotic and crowded nature of Dhaka, with its many market stalls, jostling crowds, crammed roads and huge clothing factories churning out millions of garments a year. We also take a fun ride in a human powered rickshaw and see some of the development that is taking place in Dhaka, especially the laying of brand new roads.
Inside the Biman flight catering center complex, which produces a staggering ten thousand meals and four hundred kilos of chicken curry a day, we take a fly-on-the-wall and in-depth look at each stage of the production of an in-flight meal. We visit the huge storage warehouse filled to the rafters with hundreds of litres of soft drinks and many tonnes of rice, flour, vegetables and other staples. Our first stop after this is the bakery where all of those delicious in flight bread rolls, Danish pastries and sweet desserts are produced. We also see the enormous food preparation area where mountains of diced vegetables await being expertly combined in to beautiful salads. After this introduction, we see the main engine room of the catering facility, the hot kitchen, with drums boiling 150 litres of water at a time and pots and pans fit for a giant’s kitchen! You’ll be wishing you could reach in to your screen and taste for yourself as you see the endless trays of curry and rice. We then see the final stages of the production line, with expertly disciplined staff portioning off the food to strict weight requirements, before the food is fast chilled, labelled and ready to be transported by truck to the next group of hungry Biman airline customers!
Our stomachs full, we enjoy a generous helping of plane spotting at Dhaka airport and meet one of the large group of female Biman engineers who take care of the aeroplanes in Biman’s huge hangar, constructed back in 1990, before moving on to the fan meet and greet with you guys – you really feel the love out in Bangladesh and I was so excited to be able to meet you all, to share in your passion for aviation and to make this great video celebrating Biman Airlines and Bangladesh aviation – thanks for everything!

A young reverend and his wife are on the way from England to Australia to minister to their flock. The minister, who considers himself a progressive, is shocked at the amoral atmosphere surrounding the painter, his wife, and the three models living at his estate. The minister's wife is troubled also, and has to deal with latent sexual urges while trying to remain loyal to her husband.

This film was funny and inspiring, with beautiful music by Rachel Portman (the only female composer in films in the top ten almost all male composer lists). Lots in this film will stay with you; especially the scenes with Australian animals and waters and snakes. Great philosophical and comedic themes as well. This is supposed to be a comedy but I found myself transfixed by the stunning cinematography and beautiful bodies more than anything else. Sam Neill's bevy of beautiful nude models, headed by Elle Macpherson, nearly steal the show. Hugh Grant is surprisingly convincing in his role as the prudish minister and Tara Fitzgerald is equally convincing as his almost-as-prudish wife. Oh, how I love this movie!
It shows us how under the thin veneer of hypocrisy, religiousness, and enmity against all physical lies what God gave us to enjoy: a body to experience happiness, laughter, desire, sensuality, lust, and sexuality. And no institutions (like the Christian church in this film) have the right nor - in the long run - the capability to prevent people from finding out this fundamental truth.
Watching this movie without an open mind towards sex or a joyful sense of humor surely will be annoying. So fundamentalist Christians and other prudes shouldn't bother. The rest of the audience (hopefully the majority) can expect a solid performance of the entire ensemble and many moments that make you smile and sometimes downright happy. Hugh Grant is very good as the uptight clergyman, and Tara Fitzgerald is wonderful as a woman experiencing sexual reawakening. Elle gives a subtle surprising performance as the chief 'siren', kudos for stocking an extra 20 pounds for this role, rubenesque an all, she looks delightful. Mathematics and sex are deeply intertwined. From using mathematics to reveal patterns in our sex lives, to using sex to prime our brain for certain types of problems, to understanding them both in terms of the evolutionary roots of our brain, Dr Clio Cresswell shares her insight into it all.
Dr Clio Cresswell is a Senior Lecturer in Mathematics at The University of Sydney researching the evolution of mathematical thought and the role of mathematics in society. Born in England, she spent part of her childhood on a Greek island, and was then schooled in the south of France where she studied Visual Art. At eighteen she simultaneously discovered the joys of Australia and mathematics, following on to win the University Medal and complete a PhD in mathematics at The University of New South Wales. Communicating mathematics is her field and passion. Clio has appeared on panel shows commenting, debating and interviewing; authored book reviews and opinion pieces; joined breakfast radio teams and current affair programs; always there highlighting the mathematical element to our lives. She is author of Mathematics and Sex.

The film follows two dinosaur experts -- Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and Dr. Ellie Sattler Laura Dern) -- as they are invited by eccentric millionaire John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) to preview his new amusement park on an island off Costa Rica. By cloning DNA harvested from pre-historic insects, Hammond has been able to create living dinosaurs for his new Jurassic Park, an immense animal preserve housing real brachiosaurs, dilophosaurs, triceratops, velociraptors, and a Tyrannosaur Rex. Accompanied by cynical scientist Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum), who is obsessed with chaos theory, and Hammond's two grandchildren (Ariana Richards and Joseph Mazzello), they are sent on a tour through Hammond's new resort in computer controlled touring cars. But as a tropical storm hits the island, knocking out the power supply, and an unscrupulous employee (Wayne Knight) sabotages the system so that he can smuggle dinosaur embryos out of the park, the dinosaurs start to rage out of control. Grant then has to bring Hammond's grandchildren back to safety as the group is pursued by the gigantic man-eating beasts.
