STORYLINE:
The longtime home of the Dallas Cowboys football team in Texas has been demolished.
Fireworks shot off above the building for several minutes, before hundreds of fans counted down as an 11 year-old competition winner set off the implosion.
Casey Rogers of Terrell, Texas, pushed a button triggering the demolition.
After about six months of planning, it took less than a minute to bring the concrete and steel stadium crashing down.
More than a ton (tonne) of dynamite was used to destroy Texas Stadium, which was famous for the giant hole in its roof, so God can watch his team, according to local lore.
The Dallas Cowboys won all five of their Super Bowl titles at the stadium.
The team moved to the new 1.2 billion (US) Cowboys Stadium in nearby Arlington after the 2008 season.
Texas has a 10 year lease to use the property as a staging area for a highway construction project.
Cleanup of the site is expected to take until July.

'Cowboys for Trump' Trek to DC To Show Support for Border Wall with Hand-Crafted Gift for Trump
'Cowboys for Trump' Trek to DC To Show Support for Border Wall with Hand-Crafted Gift for Trump Washington, D.C., may be a long way away from the Wild West, but two dozen real-life wranglers just brought the cowboy spirit to the nation’s capital. In a demonstration to show support for President Donald Trump and raise awareness for the border security issue, a group of conservatives completed a week-long horseback ride through winter weather to march — or is that clop? — to the White House from the historic Cumberland area of Maryland. “Friday’s arrival concluded an eight-day ride from Cumberland, Maryland, that began on Feb. 15, the same day President Donald Trump declared a national emergency along the U.S.-Mexico border,” reported WTOP Radio in Washington. Carrying American flags and blue Trump banners, the riders covered about 25 miles per day along the C&O Canal towpath for much of their journey, braving cold temperatures to travel through a part of the country once surveyed by George Washington himself. One of them is Wolf Portugal, a Native American who told WTOP that he believes his ancestors would have supported a security wall as well. Trump is known for his now-iconic campaign hats, and the “Cowboys for Trump” decided to bring him one with a unique design. One member of the group made a custom cowboy hat for the commander in chief, although they have not yet been able to give it to him personally. Whether Trump ultimately prevails in his emergency border declaration and inevitable court challenges remains to be seen, but the fact that supporters are so fired up over illegal immigration shows that the issue isn’t going away any time soon.
Exploring Texas as a Street Performer (Busker)
Featuring Austin, Dallas, Houston, Denton, McKinney, and San Antonio.
I'd never been to Texas so I wanted to take a week long road trip around the state to get a sense for how the people would respond to my music in different cities. I didn't have time or enough stability to book gigs in advance to I planned on busking (i.e. street performing) in each city as a way to interact with the people.
We left Albuquerque New Mexico for Lubbock Texas and the Buddy Holly Center and camped at Buffalo Springs Lake. The next day we stopped in Abilene and got some real work done at Monk's coffee then hit the road for Deep Ellum in Dallas Texas, where I busked for about an hour. We spent the night in McKinney Texas and I busked at the McKinney Farmers Market at Historic Chestnut Square and Denton Texas before camping at Double Lake Campground in Sam Houston National Forest. The next day we found ourselves in Downtown Houston and I busked at Hermann Park before heading out to Corpus Christi and South Padre Island. We booked it out of South Padre at 5:30 the next morning surrounded by rain and lightning for San Antonio, where we saw The Alamo and I earned $18 busking in the San Antonio River Walk. We camped at Mystic Quarry Campground next to Canyon Lake and headed out for Austin Texas the next day where I busked at South Congress and 6th Street and caught some live music (James McMurtry) at the historic Continental. We stopped at San Angelo Texas on our way back to Albuquerque New Mexico the next day.

Mirage Custom Pools Lakes of Las Colinas Irving Dallas Texas
Mirage Custom Pools is a award winning pool and spa builder throughout the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex Mirage has been a family owned business for close to a decade and have had family in the business since the late 1950's. Here is a little company history on the company.
In about spring of 1956 Bob Hauk at the age of 16 parents was building a new home at #51 Frederick lane, in St. Louis Mo. At this time the family business was farm equipment and were distributors for Clayton & Lambert grain storage bins. Bob wanted a pool in their new house and along with his Dad George Hauk had the idea of digging a hole, Bob proceeded to dig a hole with his 9N Ford tractor and He and a friend erected a steel ring consisting of grain bin sheets and then poured a concrete bottom, the first pool was a 24' circle 2'6 to 5' deep, a old hot water tank was used for a gravel filter along with a Jacuzzi 1hp pump, Jacuzzi was not in the pool pump business at this time and this was the first use of a Jacuzzi pump on a pool. The pool was done for the 4th of July and a pool party was planed. Bobs friends were excited because at this time the closest public pool was over 10 miles away and in the summer was over crowed. George Hauk invited all his friends over, that same weekend, the interest was so great Circle Pools a division of Hauk Farm-O-Mation was formed and the first display pool was erected at the farm equipment office on 13240 Manchester rd. in Ballwin, MO. in early 1957. That first year Bob sold and erected about 12 pools. The pool company is still in business at the same location today and goes by the name of Baker Pools. Tom Baker was a partner of George Hauks in the original Farm equipment business and was instrumental on later developments of the pool line. The first above ground vinyl liner was also pioneered by George and Bob Hauk. Later Clayton & Lambert took the concept nationwide and is still sold largely in the harsh northern climates many have copied the above ground vinyl liner concept. Those first years only round pools were sold and erected 24' was sold for $2495 and 30' pool was sold for $3095 this include a ladder, one suction and return along with a 3' gray concrete deck. Later straight sidewalls were added as were figure 8's using an 18' and a 30' circle. Later years Clayton & Labbert developed many designs using the same concept that George and Bob Hauk first used in that summer of 1956.
The first 24 and 30' pool pictures are shown in Mirage Custom pools show rooms today. David, Tom and Jeff Hauk are continuing to carry on the innovative design, quality and value that the original Circle pool did in 1956.
