Victoria is the capital city of the Canadian province of British Columbia, and is located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island off Canada's Pacific coast. The city has a population of about 85,792, while the metropolitan area of Greater Victoria, has a population of 367,770, making it the 15th most populous Canadian urban region. The city of Victoria is the 7th most densely populated city in Canada with 4,405.8 people per square kilometre, which is a greater population density than Toronto.

Whitehern : Doors Open
Photos taken of Whitehern, home of the McQuesten family during the Doors Open event. Historic artifacts from the Victorian era they lived in are on display. When you enter this house it feels as though you really have gone back in time. Walking through the house you get the feeling you are not alone. Perhaps a family member is walking with you?

Bank of Canada & SESQUI
The Bank of Canada collaborated with SESQUI to bring their collaborative $10 bill to the people and provide a background and education between the choices of visuals and people on the new $10 bill. Profiled on it were: Sir John A MacDonald - first prime minister, George-Etienne Cartier - fellow Father of Confederation, Agnes Macphail, first women elected to parliament and James Gladstone, first First Nation person appointed to the Senate.

For Everyone A Fountain: Robert Youds
Between November 10-December 16, Open Space presents For Everyone A Fountain, a new work by Victoria-based artist Robert Youds. Architectural in its initial demeanor, Youds’ latest work offers an experiential, immersive adventure at the intersection of painting, sculpture, light, sound, time, and algorithm.
For Everyone A Fountain is created out of industrial material and standardized office equipment— honey-comb aluminum, boxes, lamps, galvanized steel sawhorses, electrical cords, and power bars. Bright colours are strewn throughout the installation, lit by mesmerizing and ever-changing coloured light from forty ordinary desk lamps. The light patterns correspond to a computer’s attempt at reading and deciphering landscape photography. With this exhibition, Youds creates a metaphorical room where inanimate objects reinterpret stored images as if through their own terms.
Robert Youds completed his MFA from York University and he holds a BFA from the University of Victoria.
His artworks have been exhibited in major public institutions such as Site Santa Fe (USA), National Gallery of Canada, Confederation Centre Art Gallery, Museo de la Ciudad de Mexico, Vancouver Art Gallery, Xi’an Art Museum, China, Glenbow Museum, Oliver Art Center (USA), Art Gallery of Ontario, Edmonton Art Gallery, Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, Southern Alberta Art Gallery, Power Plant (Toronto), and Today Art Museum, Beijing, China.
Youds’ works have been placed broadly in both public and private collections, including the National Gallery of Canada, McDonald Stewart Gallery, Cadillac Fairview’s RBC building, Toronto, Vancouver Art Gallery, Art Gallery of Ontario, Hamilton Art Gallery, Mendel Art Gallery, TD Bank Collection, BMO Bank Collection, Museum Toronto, among many others.
His artworks have been represented by Sable-Castelli Gallery, Toronto, Post Wilshire, Los Angeles, Diaz Contemporary, Toronto, William Turner, Los Angeles, Barbara Edwards Contemporary, Toronto, and most recently by the Winchester Gallery, Victoria.
He has been a Professor of Visual Arts at the University of Victoria since 1989.
Fan Tan Alley (the narrowest street in Canada) located in Victoria, BC
Fan Tan Ally is the narrowest street in Canada. It is located in the oldest China Town in Canada at Victoria, BC. Named after a Chinese gambling game Fan Tan, the alley originally used as gambling district with restaurant, shops, and opium dens. Today, you will find some amazing shops and tourists in this alley. After visiting this street, i wonder why they call it a street?!
Bastion Square in Victoria
Bastion Square is located in the heart of downtown Victoria BC. The ceremonial entry arch, located at View and Government Streets, welcomes visitors to the original site of old Fort Victoria.
The square looks out on the Inner Harbour and boasts the finest restaurants, pubs, and cafes in Victoria. In the summer, its seasonal artisan market and many outdoor patios make it an ideal spot to visit!
We usually go to Paradiso Di Stelle, for their great coffee and food as they offering Italian fare , plus a harbour side patio to sit in the sun.

Craigdarroch Castle (Victoria, BC)
Craigdarroch Castle is a definitively Victorian experience. It is a shining example of a “bonanza castle” — massive houses built for entrepreneurs who became wealthy during the industrial age. In this case, the industrialist was Robert Dunsmuir, a Scottish immigrant who made his fortune from Vancouver Island coal.
This legendary Victorian mansion, built between 1887 and 1890 on a hill overlooking the City of Victoria, announced to the world that Robert Dunsmuir was the richest and most important man in Western Canada. He died in 1889, leaving his entire estate to his wife Joan, who lived in the Castle until her death in 1908.
The immense fortune of the Dunsmuir family is reflected in the four floors of exquisite stained glass windows, intricate woodwork and fabulous Victorian-era furnishings.
New Dock for Point Ellice Heritage House
Minister Steve Thomson arrived by harbour ferry to officially open the new dock and gangway at Victoria's Point Ellice House. The house was built 151 years ago and holds one of North America's largest collections of Victoriana. Other completed projects on the site include a new roof for the historic house, restoration of external walls, and the addition of fencing and handrails as well as considerable work to the site's beautiful gardens.
