Inside Hotel Conneaut - Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania
In 1893 Businessmen of the Exposition Park Co. built a new resort hotel on a lake front parcel of property on the southern end of what was then known as Exposition Park. As the new resort began to grow and prosper, so did the need for higher end accommodations. In 1902, construction began on the rebuilding of the Exposition Hotel into the new Hotel Conneaut. While most of the original hotel was demolished, one wing was retained and reused in the new hotel, and still stands to this day.
Originally, Hotel Conneaut boasted 150 guest rooms. Room rates were $1.00 per day and meals were only $.35.

Blue Streak front seat on-ride 4K POV Conneaut Lake
This classic wooden out and back wooden coaster opened in 1938, but has seen some lengthy down time when it was SBNO (standing but not operating) from 1995-1996 and 2007-2010. This has largely been due to the park financial woes, but don't let the condition of the coaster fool you - it's a great ride filled with bouncy air time.
Conneaut Lake Park is located at Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania.

Conneaut Lake Park - A Tribute (1989 footage)
Here is a video I compiled from my home movie footage of Conneaut Lake Park, circa July 13, 1989. Conneaut Lake Park is a classic amusement park located in Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania. The video features many of the rides open at the time, including: the Paratrooper, Wild Mouse, Ultimate Trip, Twister, Tilt-a-Whirl, The Whip, The Yo-Yo, The Sea Dragon, Spider, and Carousel. I grew up going to CLP, and it will always hold a special place in my heart.
The song, Conneaut Lake Park, was written & performed by Matthew Mitchell, who won the official CLP jingle contest in 2012.
I hope you enjoy the footage and memories!

Riding the Tumble Bug - Conneaut Lake Park, Pennsylvania
Only two full-sized Tumble Bugs remain operating today in the United States—one at Kennywood in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania, and one at Conneaut Lake Park in Conneaut Lake, PA. All full-size instances were made by Traver Engineering.[1] The ride also exists in a kiddie form. The size of the full-size Tumble Bug is 100 feet in diameter. The full-size has 5 or 6 cars, while the kiddie version has 3 to 4 cars. There are more kiddie versions operating today than there are full-sized.

Riding The Blue Streak Roller Coaster - Conneaut Lake Park, Pennsylvania
Blue Streak is a wooden roller coaster built in 1937 at Conneaut Lake Park in Conneaut Lake, Pennsylvania. It is the only wooden coaster operating in the park and the largest. Blue Streak follows an out and back design. It is the 17th oldest wooden roller coaster in the United States, and it is one of two shallow coasters designed by Ed Vettel still operating. The second is The Cyclone at Lakeside Amusement Park in Denver, Colorado. This Blue Streak at Conneaut Lake Park first opened in 1938. Upon leaving the station, the trains immediately enter a tunnel in the shape of an “S and begin a 78 foot high climb up the lift hill. The train plummets down the first drop reaching up to a top speed of 50 mph and into a flat section of track. The flat section is followed by 2 medium size hills, then a turnaround section that features a slight dip as it turns the train back towards the station. The train then follows 4 smaller camel back hills, providing airtime, then entering the brake run and making a 360 degree turn back into the platform/station.
