Schindler 9300 Escalators-Connecticut Convention Center (Esplanade Side); Hartford, CT
Happy escalator monday!
For those who are anticipating the elevators are not Schindler, here is proof Schindler may have had something to do with the install.
Here we have two sets of Schindler escalators, first going up from 3-4 (does not serve the lobby), then another set going up to 4-6. However, we actually get to ride those escalators this time, as there was actually an event on the 6th floor at the time of filming this fine quality video (if there is no event on 6, that level is pretty much closed off).
Check out the views from these escalators, ESPECIALLY from 4-6. A ride on the escalators will give fantastic views of the grand ten-story atrium this place has (six floors altogether)!
This side the escalators are located on, the esplanade side, is the closest to the Connecticut River. Supposedly the definition of esplanade is an open area by a river where people may walk (thanks, Wikipedia!). In the building itself, the fourth floor of this side has a mini-bar, and an entryway from the bridge connecting this complex to the Science center (bridge built a year after Science Center opened in 2009), which eventually leads to a park by the river. Additionally, there is a walkway to the parking deck here, too.

Custom Schindler MT Traction Elevators-Connecticut Convention Center Parking Garage; Hartford, CT
Yes, we have some Schindler MT's. Actually, not quite the traditional Schindler MT elevator.
Although these have the MT fixtures, which Schindler has used, these elevators don't seem to behave like your traditional Schindler elevator. Notice how the indicator is not one floor ahead, like your average Schindler. From some videos of Schindler tractions I have seen (and one CONFIRMED one I have been on), they behave similar. One other thing to take note of are the CE Electronics/ACME indicators in the elevators. Usually we would see the 500A indicator with the 500A beep (the 500A indicator is a cross between your traditional MT and HT indicators).
WHY SCHINDLER?
My guess for Schindler is more than likely accurate as there are escalators and hydraulic elevators (330A) here manufactured by Schindler. It is more than likely that Schindler was given the contract for not only the escalators and hydraulic elevators, but also the traction elevators as well; the two within the convention center and here in the parking garage. Furthermore, we have the MT fixtures used here, which is usually used by Schindler. Oddly enough, the MT line is actually manufactured by EPCO, not Schindler. However, Schindler is the only company we know of that uses MT, unless I somehow became the first person to discover an elevator using the MT fixtures that is not manufactured by Schindler (doesn't seem likely, though).
The traction elevators here are all pretty much the same layout, controller behavior, and shape as the interior elevators, in terms of elevator functionality. The odd thing here in the parking garage is that these only have a 3500lbs capacity as opposed to the main elevators in the convention center, which have a 4000lbs capacity. These are the only elevators in the convention center portion that don't have fire alarms in them (bizarre, eh?).
This complex consists of the six-story Convention Center building and a 22 story Marriott hotel (has OTIS, locked elevators, though). Both building's lobbies are attached to each other, making the Marriott part of the Convention Center. The entire facility opened in 2005. If my memory serves right, I think I remember it opening on some Friday in June of that year.

External Schindler 330A Hydraulic Elevator (Street) - Connecticut Convention Center - Hartford, CT
It's been a while since I made a video of this particular elevator. Well, here's another video, short and simple, and gets the point across.
This happens to be one of the external Schindler 330A elevators that is more towards the street. This is meant for access from the sidewalk up to the Exhibit or EX level (which is three stories up) or from the EX level down to street .To put it simply, this is a shuttle elevator from the street up to the EX level.
The complex consists of the six-story Convention Center building and a 22 story Marriott hotel. Both building's lobbies are attached to each other, making the Marriott part of the Convention Center. There is an outdoor walkway on top of the connected lobbies, which is where this elevator is. Both the Convention Center and the Marriott opened in 2005. Sometime this June will be the 10th anniversary of the opening...I can't believe this is 10 years old already, it almost seems like yesterday that it first opened. Yet, it still never fails to impress me. More notably, the Convention Center is home to Connecticon.

Connecticut Convention Center Exterior Concourse
Custom Schindler Traction Elevator-Connecticut Convention Center (Lobby); Hartford, CT
On the other side of this fine facility, we have THIS elevator.
Yes, it's another elevator in this facility. Like the other one I showed you, this elevator uses the same fixtures, voice, ACME (CE Electronics) Indicators, a similar cab, and yes, even a FIRE ALARM in the elevator (not sure why that's there)! However, we have our differences here.
Unlike the other elevator I showed you, this elevator is the entry elevator. It is right adjacent to the parking garage entrance and the building's lobby (not to be confused with the large gathering areas on 3-6, which are pre function space). The lobby's function in this building is a hub for the garage, the hotel lobby, and of course, the convention center itself. The lobby is the only additional floor this serves compared to the other one. Take note how it skips 2; this elevator does not serve 2 as it is part of the parking garage; there is already a 330A serving that portion of the garage.
WHY SCHINDLER?
Recently, I have had a few doubts about these elevators being Schindler. For one, the controller behavior just does not seem Schindler-like because of the fact the controller is not a floor ahead. Also, if it were a full 500A. we would have the typical Schindler traction indicator as opposed to the ACME indicator. One of my viewers has suggested ThyssenKrupp to be the installer of this. However, we cannot fully rule out Schindler here.
There's a few reasons I have assumed this and the other traction elevators here to be Schindler in the first place. For one, Schindler installed the escalators and three (known) hydraulic elevators (330A). A while back, there were Schindler maintenance sticky notes stuck inside the doors. These are a sign Schindler at least maintains these; those signs would be removed from inside the door to be placed on the outside of the doors/call buttons, to inform people the elevators were going through routine maintenance. The parking garage elevators (to be uploaded) have MT fixtures, yet they are similar to the interior elevators in terms of indicators, controller behavior, layout, etc). Although the MT line is made by Adams and not Schindler, Schindler is the only company we know of that uses the MT line, unless I may have discovered a 3rd party company using the MT line! :O

Schindler 330A Hydraulic Elevator-Connecticut Convention Center (Esplanade Side); Hartford, CT
HAPPY 330A DAY!!! For 330A day, I figured I would recognize this 330A.
This is a hospital sized 330A hydraulic elevator that serves the Exhibit Level (EX) and Esplanade (ES). This elevator can be utilized to go from EX to ES. Additionally, this serves the two parking levels (P1 and P2). Not only does this serve the two outdoor levels, but also, it serves as an alternate to the main entrance way (as opposed to going in through the regular entrance). Additionally, one could park in this garage, go up to esplanade level, and walk over to a waterfront development (not shown in the video).
This place consists of three 330A elevators; this one, one towards the street side (was broken when I visited), and one in the parking garage that serves P1 and P2 (unbelievably busy as usual, may not even bother uploading that one). These hydros and the escalators are the reason why I believe the traction elevators are Schindler. Schindler must have had a contract with the entire facility, including installing the tractions.
This complex consists of the six-story Convention Center building and a 22 story Marriott hotel (has OTIS, locked elevators, though). Both building's lobbies are attached to each other, making the Marriott part of the Convention Center. The entire facility opened in 2005. Custom Schindler Traction Elevator (Flrs *3-6) - Connecticut Convention Center - Hartford, CT
Short, and simple video of a custom (Schindler) traction elevator (see bottom of description why I went a simpler route). This one happens to serve floors 3 to 6 in the building, excluding the entrance. Essentially, this is more of a secondary elevator. It is also towards the Connecticut River.
I've said this before, and I'll say it again; more than likely, this is a candidate for a flavor of custom Schindler, or some company that is a flavor of Schindler (some third party company, possibly). Why do I say that? For one, the escalators and hydraulic elevators within the convention center portion are Schindler (including the parking garage). More than likely, there was some sort of contract with Schindler when everything was installed here. You will also notice that the elevator uses EPCO fixtures and CE electronics indicators. One other thing to note is that this uses a GAL interlock.
The complex consists of the six-story Convention Center building and a 22 story Marriott hotel. Both building's lobbies are attached to each other, making the Marriott part of the Convention Center. Both the Convention Center and the Marriott opened in 2005. Sometime this June will be the 10th anniversary of the opening...I can't believe this is 10 years old already, it almost seems like yesterday that it first opened. *I've tried to make this video a little simpler and shorter than I normally have made these videos. Just something to try out here. I've also tried to focus on holding the camera a little more still. This might not have worked out completely due to having a heavy bag in my hand.

Schindler 330A Hydraulic Elevator (Esplanade/Parking) - Connecticut Convention Center - Hartford, CT
It's that special day in the year everyone! That's right, 330A day. Not surprisingly, here's a 330A.
This happens to be one of the external Schindler 330A elevators that is towards the riverwalk side of the complex (esplanade is a fancy word for riverwalk). This is meant for access from the Parking Levels below, up to the Exhibit or EX level (which is three stories up), and up further to the ES level (Four stories up). The ES level has a walkway going from the Connecticut Science Center, which eventually, leading to the river. This elevator is pretty well suited to serve all those levels, not to mention, carry up a high volume of people at a time.. Take a look at the size of this thing; a whopping 4500lbs!
The complex consists of the six-story Convention Center building and a 22 story Marriott hotel. Both building's lobbies are attached to each other, making the Marriott part of the Convention Center.
