Happy Elephants in the Conserve Natural Forests Park in Pai / Thailand
There is a new project in Pai, we'll write more about it soon on our blog! Video is already online as a little teaser :)
The website of the project is:
Conserve Natural Forest - anders als erwartet! | Thailand | #06
Wir haben die Eco-Farm Conserve Natural Forest besucht!
Thailand ????????

Cami Arrives at Conserve Natural Forests..
This beautiful elephant (Cami) had a big day yesterday travelling for 9 hours in the back of a truck..
Cami arrived at 11pm at the Conserve Natural Forests land in Pai, Maehongson..
She was pretty chilled out considering what she had been through and being in a strange place..
Now she can walk, eat, swim and virtually live how she was supposed too..
It might take a little while for her to relax into the no work environment but then again she didn’t seem at all distressed after getting off the truck and having a bit of a wander around..
Welcome to your new home and freedom Cami..
Walk With the Elephants: Elephant Conservation in Pai Thailand.
Walk with the elephants is a long-term photography project following the work of the non-governmental organization Conserve Natural Forests based in Mae Hong Son Thailand. One of their missions is creating awareness of the cruelties elephants are exposed to when used for giving rides in the tourist industry and also introducing them back into the wild.
CNF Project Site
Welcome to our Conservation Project Site, located 15 km just outside of Pai in the Maehongson Province of Northern Thailand. Our mission is to build a habitat for native plant and animal species to thrive and reproduce. We have the infrastructure to sustain a tree nursery, organic farm, aviary, as well as an elephant reproduction centre.
If you are interested in visiting our site, please drop us a line through Facebook or the contact page on our website.

Why, Where and How to Help Elephants in Thailand
By Ivana and Gianni of Nomad is Beautiful:
In March 2014 we spent three days in Thailand with 27 energetic kids from thirteen countries who came to take action and help the Bring The Elephant Home project that promotes natural behaviour of elephants & re-creates their natural habitat.
During those three days, we made firebreaks in a forest near Kantchanaburi, built two rock check dams, dug two salt lick ponds and learnt more about seed germination & potting seedlings.
This video is a short documentary about all mentioned activities.
You can find more information about the trip and the helpful job the kids and their teachers did on our travel blog
All videos are taken and edited by Ivana Greslikova & Gianni Bianchini.

A brief video to show what you can get up to in Pai, Thailand in 1 day.
About Conserve Natural Forests:
We are here to repair the damage done by humans to our environment and leave this world a little better than we found it. As simple as this may sound, environmental degradation is a highly complicated issue that intersects almost every aspect of society, from international trade to political economy to local farming practices. If the problem is multifarious, our approach must be multifaceted. Where unsustainable farming practices have decimated Thailand’s primary forests and removed one of our frontline defenders against global warming, we are working to restore its biodiversity and ecological function. Where overpopulation has edged out the natural habitat of many endemic species, we are providing a space for these animals to reintegrate with the wild. In a world saturated by misinformation, we are engaging and educating local communities about the importance of sustainable development and environmental conservation. And we have already seen results. CNF is the leading conservation organization in the Mae Hong Son Province of Thailand. As of 2017, we have planted nearly 300,000 trees throughout Thailand, restoring plant and animal ecosystems across the country. Looking ahead, we have several projects in the works to rehabilitate local species such as land and sea turtles, Asian elephants, and rare avian species.

World Wildlife Fund Flying Squad Asian Elephant Conservation Project - Sumatra
I do not own the copyright to this TV program. It was originally broadcast on ABC News Nightline on December 11, 2007. Here is part of the script from the show.
Elephants Patrol Border Between Man and Beast
SUMATRA, Indonesia, Dec. 11, 2007
By NICK WATT
NICK WATT Correspondent
It's called the Flying Squad: Four elephants and a baby named Nella. Its mission? To patrol the increasingly contentious boundary between man and wild elephants on the edge of the Tesso Nilo National Park in Sumatra, Indonesia.
An elephant will smash a motorcycle in one fell swoop. But [a] bull elephant going head-to-head with another bull elephant, that's a different story, explains Adam Tomasek, from the World Wildlife Fund. In a way, they are the first responders.
When they meet a wild elephant that's threatening a village and they can't scare it away, the male elephants in the Flying Squad have to stand, lock tusks and fight, trying to drive the wild elephants away from crops before people take action.
Without a Flying Squad, lots of times the only option is to set out traps, to set out poison, said Tomasek.
The park was once home to 1,600 wild elephants. Now there are only 200 left, and the Flying Squad is trying to save them.
