La Martiniere Boys College, Lucknow Time Lapse 2017
La Martinière College is an educational institution located in Lucknow, the capital of the Indian State of Uttar Pradesh. The college consists of two schools on different campuses for boys and girls. La Martinière Boys' College was founded in 1845 and La Martinière Girls' College was established in 1869. The Boys' College is the only school in the world to have been awarded royal battle honours for its role in the defence of Lucknow during the mutiny of 1857. The two Lucknow colleges are part of the La Martinière family of schools founded by the French adventurer Major General Claude Martin. There are two La Martinière Colleges in Kolkata and three in Lyon. La Martinière provides a liberal education and the medium of instruction is the English language. The schools cater for pupils from the ages of five through to 17 or 18, and are open to children of all religious denominations. The schools have day scholars and boarders. It is one of the most prestigious colleges of India and often features in the top schools of India.

Janeshwar Mishra Park:-
Background:- Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) has developed eco-friendly Janeshwar Mishra Park (JMP) in the heart of the city. It has been conceptualised and designed as a multi-functional environmental and recreational green which will not just provide sustainable habitat for various species of birds but also double up as a major entertainment and recreation centre for all sections of the society. It will enhance and improve the ecological balance and help restore sensitive habitat for numerous species of birds, small animals, fishes, amphibians and even insects. The design direction for the park is centered on the strategy for sustainable development that aims to promote harmony among human beings and between humanity and nature. The pursuit of sustainable development requires a social system that provides for solutions for the tensions arising from disharmonious development. The site has a gentle and general slope towards south to north and greater gradient towards eastern and western sides where it will house water bodies. As per Lucknow Master Plan, the site falls in green belt and was visualized as a city forest. However, due to manifold reasons the site is now proposed to be developed a park to meet the social and recreational needs of the neighbouring population. However, whilst permitting the change from city forest to landscaped park.
Area characteristics:- The site measures around 376 acres and is located in Gomti Nagar extension, Part-1. It lies between Lucknow and Faizabad Northern Railway line in north-eastern side and rich fertile plains of River Gomti on southern side. The site for the park is bordered by river Gomti and a bund road on the other side. Owing to its location, the site will serve as a recreation area and a green lung to the local population likely to move in the LDA housing. The bund road offers a vantage location to enjoy fully developed panoramic view of the site.
La Martinière College:-
The Economist has described its Constantia building as perhaps the best-preserved colonial building in Lucknow. La Martinière Boys' College was founded by an endowment from the wealthy eighteenth-century Frenchman, Major-General Claude Martin (1735–1800), who was an officer in the French and later the British East India Company. Martin acquired his fortune while serving Asaf-ud-Daula, the nawab wazir of Awadh, and was reputedly the richest Frenchman in India. Constantia, the palatial building which now houses the Boys' College, was built in 1785 as Martin's country residence, but was not completed until 1802, two years after Martin's death on 13 September 1800. Historians believe that the house takes its name from the school motto Labore et Constantia (Work and Constancy) which represents Martin's personal philosophy. There is a more romantic, though unproven, notion that the building was named after Constance, a young French girl who was supposedly Martin's first love.
Martin never married and he had no heirs. In his will, dated 1 January 1800, he left the bulk of his estate to provide for the establishment of three schools to be named La Martinière in his memory. The schools were to be located in Lucknow, Calcutta and at Lyon, his birthplace in France. The residue of his estate after bequests had been made was to be used for the maintenance of these schools. He directed that the school in Lucknow should be established at Constantia and that the house should be kept as a school or College for learning young men the English language and Christian religion if they found themselves inclined.

I couldn't help myself but to upload this performance and this was 'The Best Performance' I've ever had with these guys seriously I'm so gonna miss them Jonathan Sahae our vocalist Christopher Singh our basist and last but not the least literally the backbone of our band Samarth Enosh Harrison our Keyboardist.

About : Dilkusha Kothi is the remains of an eighteenth-century house built in the English baroque style in the quiet Dilkusha area of Lucknow in India.Today there are only a few towers and external walls as a monument, though the extensive gardens remain. The house was shelled during its involvement in the Lucknow siege in 1857 together with the Residency and the nearby school of La Martiniere
History :
The house was constructed around 1800 by the British resident Major Gore Ouseley, a friend of the ruler of Oudh, Nawab Saadat Ali Khan. It was initially intended as a hunting lodge for the Nawabs of Oudh, although it was later used as a summer resort too. Changes were made to its design by Nawab, King Nasir-ud-Din Haider (1827-1837). The building had patterned walls and unusually no inner courtyard as was traditional in Indian architecture. The building therefore had a smaller footprint and did not extend over a large area but was taller than traditional local architecture. The design bears a startling resemblance to the style of Seaton Delaval Hall in Northumberland, England. Seaton Delaval Hall was built in 1721 and was designed by Sir John Vanbrugh, who also designed Blenheim Palace. Dilkusha Kothi is depicted in a rare early albumen print by the photographer Samuel Bourne, dating from 1864-1865
The British actress Mary Linley Taylor was impressed by Dilkusha Kothi and named her own home in Seoul after it. She explained, From that moment in India when first I saw Dilkusha, the Palace of Heart's Delight, I dreamed of this moment when I would bestow upon our home the name Dilkusha
