This road which probably takes it name 'observance' from the high viewing point over Bologna leads to the church San Paolo in Monte. An imposing cross marks the spot where an annual march to the top celebrates the Madonna del Monte. On the way there are 14 stations of the cross for the religious ceremony that accompanies the march.
