It was my partner's mothers 78th birthday on the weekend (Happy Birthday Joyce) and she chose for us to visit Cooberrie Park Wildlife Sanctuary as she's an avid animal lover & she'd never been there before despite having lived on the Capricorn Coast all her life. She loved it!
If you've never been or it's been some time since you've visited then I highly recommend taking yourself along. The staff are wonderful, very knowledgeable and helpful, and the animals are well cared for. They've come a long way resurrecting the place since Cyclone Marcia came through, well done to all.
If you'd like to visit, their opening times are:
10am - 3pm with an interactive show at 1pm that includes a koala, skink, snake and a bearded dragon (my personal favourite).
Cooberrie Park receive no Government funding and rely solely on Admission and Donations. These monies not only go towards the animals in the park but the many sick, injured and orphaned Wildlife they take under their wings. The animals really appreciate your support!!
