From the first day a calf is born on a Michigan dairy farm, they receive a nutritious diet, healthy living conditions, and good medical care from veterinarians. Veterinarian, Dr. Kent Ames, was helping a cow give birth to her calf around Christmas time, and had brought along his daughter, Beth. Once the calf was born, a farm employee decided to name the new calf Beth, in honor of Dr. Ames' daughter. Dairy farmers and their veterinarians work closely with their employees to provide the best care possible for their animals, to produce high-quality milk.
