If you have an interest in our oceans and the animals that live within them, then the Whale and Wildlife Centre is not to be missed. This centre was opened in 2000 by Nan Hauser as an education centre for the conservation of cetaceans. It quickly became an popular tourist attraction and place of interest for people who want to learn more about our oceans. Not to missed, this centre is very interactive and allows you to touch, feel and hold the majority of its displays, whether it is baleen from a whale, a shark fin or a coconut crab. For only a small entrance fee this will keep kids and adults enthralled. There is also a cafe there for a bite to eat.

Cook Islands_1: Rarotonga
We enjoy Rarotonga, the main island in the Cook Islands Pacific chain and the centre of ocean activities. We snorkel in an incredible marine reserve, explore the local markets, and miss a heartbeat when a giant trevally eats our underwater camera while it 's still filming. We see butterflies, tropical fish galore and hermit crabs.

After a great on the water we decided to get back out on to the water to watch the sun set in to the Pacific Ocean. We joined Sail Rarotonga for their sunset cruise along the island. They provided the nibbles and sailing knowhow and we just brought our wine and beer and relax in paradise with the breeze blowing through our hair as we sailed in to the sunset. The perfect end to a fun day.

If getting into the water is not quite your thing then you can still experience the underwater world onboard the Reef Sub, nicknamed the Yellow Submarine. The skipper gives you a commentary about the history of the island and marine life as Yellow Submarine takes you out to the ship wreck. He feeds the big pelagic fish surrounding the boat so you get a close view from the lower viewing deck. They come right up to the window and you almost feel like you are in the water with them.

Rarotonga Pt.1 #TheFreshAirMovement
Little video of a few of marine animals I get to hang out with every day scuba instructing over here in Rarotonga in the south pacific. We have one of the most pristine hard coral reefs in the world, and some of the best viability you could ever find! Coral reefs are in some serious trouble though and as soon as 2030 half of them could be gone due to the sea changes fueled by human made global warming.......
