STREET FOOD in ITALY | What to eat in ROME | ROME street food tour
STREET FOOD IN ITALY | ROME street food tour | What to eat in Rome
We're in Rome, Italy! In this 3 part series we're exploring Italy's capital city to hunt down the best local food. Rome has a distinct cuisine- one based on nose to tail eating, punchy bold flavours and fresh ingredients prepared simply.
This is our first video from Rome and it's all about Rome street food! We start the day with one of Rome's most popular street foods: the suppli. A breaded, deep fried rice ball made up of risotto rice cooked in a rugu and stuffed with a blob of mozzarella- these things are addictive! Next up we hunt down some delicious pizza from pizza bianca (white pizza) to pizza al taglio (by the slice)- we find some stellar versions. Next up, gelato! One of the ultimate sweet Roman street foods! Not all gelato are made equal so we hunt down a gelateria which prepares every single ingredient for their gelato onsite from roasting the nuts to peeling and pulping the fruit. This gelato is next level and really popular with the locals. We finish up at one of Rome's institutions- a restaurant that serves only one thing: fried salt cod. If you're not eating in, head to the back of the restaurant and order a filet of fried salt cod to takeaway directly from the kitchen and enjoy it on the streets of Rome.
We hope you enjoyed this Italian food video, thanks for watching! #italianfood #romefoodtour #rome

TRAVEL DIARY: Cooking Class In Rome, Italy!
Hey y’all!
Welcome to my first travel diary! I’m a Southern Belle through and through but I love to travel and I can’t wait to share with you this video of the Ravioli and Meatballs Cooking Experience I just had in Rome, Italy!
I booked the Eat and Walk Italy cooking class through Viator and it was super easy to find a class that fit our sight-seeing schedule whilst in Rome.
Just follow this link:
Caterina, our host was exceptional and I can not recommend the experience enough. Even for a “non-cook” like me, I found the class to be informative and enjoyable. I felt like a professional chef after I was all done!
Below, I’ve shared her recipe!
Pasta, 1 person
Ingredients:
100 grams of 00 flour
1 medium egg
1 pinch of salt
Processing:
Put the flour in the shape of a pyramid and make a hole in the centre, add a pinch of salt and put the egg in the middle, begin to work the egg with a fork and add the flour slowly, once the ingredients are blended, knead the dough for 5 minutes.
Filling:
Ricotta cheese, Parmesan, spinach, salt and pepper
Meatballs 4/6 :
400 grams of beef or veal
1 egg
40 grams of Parmesan cheese
40 grams of breadcrumbs
4 slices of pancarré or 2 entire slices of bread soaked for 5 minutes in water or milk.
Salt
Pepper
Tomato sauce in “Pizzaiola” style:
250 ml of tomato sauce
250 ml of water
1 garlic
Oregano
3 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
Pizzaiola sauce:
Cook the garlic with extra virgin olive oil and add tomato sauce. Use the same quantity of tomato and water (e.g. if you use 1 bottle of water you will use 1 bottle of tomato sauce) then add salt and oregano.
Put meatballs in the sauce and continue cooking for 40/50 minutes, add some water if you reduce the sauce too much.
