Koh Lanta Thai cooking school
In Thailand there were plenty of cooking schools, we tried the Cooking with Mon school in Koh Lanta. We cooked the typical dishes Massaman Curry and Papaya Salad. It was a beautiful day and Mon was great!

Hey guys,
This is Episode 22 of 32 of our trip through Thailand. We traveled to Chiang Mai, Bangkok, Krabi and Ko Lanta and back again in 3 months. We didn't vlog everyday but we filmed alot, CrossFitted alot, explored alot and drove around on scooters alot.
Time for Lime is a cooking School on the island of Ko Lanta in southern Thailand. The people who visit here get to learn to cook from an exceptional teacher (Noi, thank you), while knowing that they are supporting an organization that creates solutions for the stray animals on the island. How cool is that?
Not only do you learn to be a great cook, you're supporting a good cause at the same time.
In this video we exhibit the creation of crispy spring rolls (Poo Pia Todd) and spicy and tangy shrimp soup (Tom Yam Goong). After eating, we go back to the kitchen to create massaman curry (gaeng massaman). I love massaman curry!

Koh Lanta (Thailand) - Thai Cooking Class with Time for Lime and Lanta Animal Welfare
We loved Koh Lanta! There are beautiful beaches, great places to eat and a wicked Old Town to explore. AND, we had an amazing time learning to cook INCREDIBLE Thai food with Time For Lime which is the majority fund source for Lanta Animal Welfare - a non-for-profit that benefits hundreds of dogs and cats, not just on Koh Lanta island, but the surrounding Krabi Province. We loved visiting their rehabilitation centre and volunteering as dog walkers for the day!
Incredible food + cocktails + dog walking + sunsets!

Thai Cooking Class
A trailer for a cooking class we signed up for on our trip to Thailand (March 2012). On an island east of Phuket called Ko Lanta.
I've been told that Ko Lanta is now, what Phuket was 10 years ago; the pre-tourism boom is creeping onto more islands every year.
The 5 1/2 hour class was a lot of info to take in. If we were to do it over, we would sign up for the 2 hour class instead. Jose got more out of it than I did- we were full after the first 2 hours.
Some dishes included spring rolls (sooo tasty!) and how to make Curry from scratch. There was also interesting tid-bits to learn like that each vegetable has two specific ways to be cut when added to food: one way when it's eaten and another if it's added just to release flavor and should not be eaten.

Insane Thai Street Food tour!!!! AO NANG, KOH LANTA, PATTAYA!
This food tour includes destinations like Koh Lanta, Ao Nang and Pattaya. Koh Lanta is an island in the southern part of Thailand. It
offers variety of street food. The Thai Pancake is something that we found new in this island. Moving on to the city of Ao Nang,
roughly a 2 hours ferry journey from Koh Lanta, this is a very comercialized place bustling with people and lots of stuff to eat.
We found a man making Ice Cream Rolls but he adds a different touch to the making procedure. Yes, he pretends to play drums when
he is making the rolls. Then, to the city of Pattaya. Here we have seen a lot of shops making Doner Kebabs so we decided to try, and
we weren't disappointed. So, this completes the 3 things we found very uncommon in the Thailand. These are not exclsively Thai
dishes but are definitely found in Thailand.
3 Things:
#1 Thai Pancake (cost: 35 Baht~1USD)
#2 Ice Cream Rolls (cost:100 Baht~1.6 USD)
#3 Doner Kebab Rolls(cost: 80 Baht~1.05 USD)

Koh Lanta, Thailand. January 3-12, 2014
Bitten by the travel bug once again. As random as the thought came to book my ticket to Thailand, finding this random island came easy. I searched for islands in thailand, saw this, instantly intrigued me. I researched, and saw the reviews. Without thinking twice, I just said Why the heck not?. I am impulsive and I trust my instincts. Once my gut tells me its the right place, I never second guess myself.
It was everything I wanted. Not too wild. Not too peaceful. Just perfect.
I packed my backpack and left. Thai cooking classes. Random hippie hostels. Animal shelters. Hidden beaches. Reggae parties. Treehouse bars. Sunset massages. Yoga sessions everyday. Motorbike rides. Great and interesting new friends.
The best investment, I believe and will always believe, is travel. Never regret. It makes you a richer man. Not in tangible riches but in experience, culture, open mindedness and a whole new perspective. Something only a few would choose to acquire.
I have traveled lots but every place humbles me. Every place teaches me. Grateful for every stamp on my passport. Grateful for every new memory. Grateful for every chance.
'til the next trip!
xoxo
Gelyn

Beautiful Koh Lanta, Thailand | Traveling by Scooter
Another day, another ferry trip. Another day, another island. Another day, another scooter trip where we go in circles. Another day, another amazing sunset.
We traveled from Koh Phi Phi to Koh Lanta by ferry. It was a beautiful ride and Koh Lanta is amazing. It's where to go in Thailand if you want to chill and hang out. Not a lot of traffic or tourists. Just nice island vibes.
We decided to rent some scooters and visit a hike to find a waterfall. We got lost, had lunch and eventually found the trail. There were beautiful sights and beaches on the way......and that sunset. Be sure to watch to the end to see the sunset. you won't believe that we captured it without a filter but we did and it was amazing.

Crispy Squid in Ao Nang, Krabi (Thai Beach Food)
►T-shirts:
►Thai Food Guides:
Ao Nang is one of the major touristy towns of Krabi, located along the coast in the south of Thailand. There’s a beach in-between Ao Nang and Khlong Haeng, and in the day time, there are a bunch of vendors that set up shop across the street from the ocean. They sell a variety of different Thai foods, most of them being deep fried Thai seafood. You’ll find fish, squid, shrimp, and some other things as well, all waiting to be ordered and served.
Typically, you can get a mat from the restaurant you choose to eat at, and they will set it up by the beach and you can order your food and they will bring it across the street as you sit there and eat. However, this particular day we went, there was a carnival going on, and so they beach was blocked by the carnival… so the restaurant had to set up some tables in the grass for us to eat at. So no beachside view this time, but same food, and we were sitting right across the road from the beach.
We chose a restaurant called Sakirin Seafood (ซากีหรีน ซีฟู๊ด), located at the end of all the street food stalls. Much of the seafood is covered in a thin yellow batter and deep fried to a crisp… and I mean a serious crisp - so crispy it can cut the gums of your mouth crispy!
The crispy squid and the crispy fish were my two favorite items of this meal.

THAILAND'S TRAPS | AO NANG WALKING STREET
Thai street food is some of the best in the world, and in Ao Nang is no exception. Beach Road Ao Nang Krabi has a wonderful selection of street vendors all in one section of road between the two beaches. from Pancakes to coconut ice cream. Tonight I took a walk through Krabi Ao Nang, to take a look at some of the best ao nang street food and see how it stacks up to the rest of Thailand street food.
