According to the record of Lingyin Temple, early in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (317-420 AD), the Indian Monk Hui Li came to Hangzhou and climbed the hill. On seeing the spot, he exclaimed, That's the peak on the vulture's hill at Mid-Tianzhu, whence has it flown here? Hence, the peak got the name Peak Flying from Afar. In 1681, Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty wrote the three characters Fēi lái fēng (Peak Flying from Afar) inscribed on the stone cliff.
Lingyin Temple was first built in 326 AD by the eminent Indian monk Hui Li. With its imposing and magnificent architectural structures, the Temple has remained one of the ten largest Zen Buddhist temples in China. The Temple consists of the Heavenly Guardian Hall, the Hall of Mahavira (Great Hero), the Hall of the Buddha of Medicine, the Hall for Five-Hundred Arhats, the Sutra Repository etc.

We were in Hangzhou! Here at the famous Ling Yin temple. The monastery is the largest of several temples in the Wulin Mountains (武林山; Wǔlínshān), which also features a large number of grottos and religious rock carvings, the most famous of which is the Feilai Feng (飞来峰; literally: the peak that flew hither).
According to tradition, the monastery was founded in 328 AD during the Eastern Jin dynasty (265–420) by an Indian monk, named Huili in Chinese. From its inception, Lingyin was a famous monastery in the Jiangnan region.[1] At its peak under the Wuyue Kingdom (907–978), the temple boasted nine multi-story buildings, 18 pavilions, 72 halls, more than 1300 dormitory rooms, inhabited by more than 3000 monks. Many of the rich Buddhist carvings in the Feilai Feng grottos and surrounding mountains also date from this era.
During the later Southern Song dynasty (1127–1279), the monastery was regarded as one of the ten most important temples of the Chan sect in the Jiangnan region. However, its prominence has not saved the temple from marauders. It has been rebuilt no less than sixteen times since then. The current buildings are modern restorations of late Qing (1644–1911) buildings.
During the Cultural Revolution, the temple and grounds suffered some damage at the hands of Red Guards. However, they escaped large scale destruction partly because of the protection of Premier Zhou Enlai.
Today the temple is thriving as a destination for both pilgrims and tourists. It is regarded as one of the wealthiest monasteries in China, and regular pilgrims have included former paramount leader Deng Xiaoping.

Lingyin Temple in China is considered to be one of the wealthiest monasteries, and the top one in Jiangnan region.

Description: Tianmu Mountain, Mount Tianmu, or Tianmushan is a mountain in Lin'an County 83.2 kilometers west of Hangzhou, Zhejiang, in eastern China. It is made up of two peaks: West Tianmu and East Tianmu . Twin ponds near the top of the peaks led to the name of the mountain. China's Tianmu Mountain National Nature Reserve lies on the northwest portion of the mountain. It is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve as part of UNESCO's Man and the Biosphere Program. The mountain has a lush sub-tropical climate with an annual rainfall of 1,767 millimeters and an annual temperature of 17.3 °C . Tianmu is known for giant Japanese cedars, waterfalls, Tianmu tea, peaks surrounded by clouds, bamboo shoots, temples and nunneries, and odd-shaped rocks. More than 2,000 species of plants grow on the mountain, including the last surviving truly wild population of Ginkgo trees. Prominent among the Japanese cedars is the Giant Tree King, named by the Qianlong Emperor of the Qing. In 2009, it measured 26.5 meters in height, 2.33 meters in diameter, and 42.9 cubic meters in volume. The mountain is also home to hundreds of species of birds and animals, including 39 endangered or protected species. These include the clouded leopard and the black muntjac.In Chinese, the name Tianmushan can also refer to the adjacent range of mountains, including Mount Mogan.

Today we hopped on a bus from Guilin in China to the beautiful Longsheng Rice Terraces! We almost missed the bus, but thankfully we arrived safely and with enough time to soak up the area by taking an evening stroll up to one of the main viewpoints: music from paradise.
We stayed in Dazhai village in Longsheng as we had heard it was much quieter than the other main tourist area.

Chinese street food and Chinese Food is something I've been eating for years, and this time, I took the train to Guilin, China and have been eating and trying the best Guilin rice noodles non-stop! It really is some of the Best Street Food I've tasted in China! The Chinese food is so good in Guilin! I've eaten street food in Bejing, street food in Shanghai, street food in Chengdu, Street food in Lanzhou, and many other travel destinations, all of which has been amazing, but I have to say that the Chinese street food, and in particular, the Chinese Guilin rice noodles in Guilin has been some of the best and most mouthwatering delicious!
Trying the street food in Guilin was incredible. The street restaurant food was also very good! I tried some rice noodles and dumplings in the old Guilin district and found a lot of good street food in Yangshuo as well.

1920's film of China: American tourists visit famous temples in Beijing
This black and white video was taken by American tourists in China in the late 1920's. It's packed with gorgeous architectural details of the Temple of Confucius (dating to the early 1300's and built to honor the ancient philosopher) and the White Stupa, a Buddhist tower built in 1279 under the orders of emperor Khublai Khan. This famous landmark in Beijing houses the relics of Buddha, much as a pagoda would. These monuments are located north of the Forbidden City in Beijing.

The appeal in regards to the case of the “Hangzhou nanny’s arson crime” was held in the Zhejiang Provincial Higher People's Court on Thursday. Mo Huanjing, 35, was sentenced to death for igniting her employer’s apartment in June 2017. Three children and their mother were burnt to death. The footage of the fierce fire that engulfed the apartment was released for the first time at the hearing. Mo Huanjing, the former nanny of Lin Binsheng and his family, was sentenced to death. Mo appealed the sentence. She said that she didn't expect the tragedy to happen and had tried to save the victims after the fire started but failed.

La estatua representa a un Buda Maitreya sentado. Maitreya es el Buda del futuro, que aparecerá cuando dharma a predicar las enseñanzas de Buda Gautama han ido desapareciendo a partir de la conciencia pública.
Adorando Maitreya es especialmente popular entre la 4 ª y 7 ª siglos, y de imágenes de Maitreya, se encuentran en los templos budistas de China, la transmisión de su característico aire de esperanza y promesa. Leshan La estatua es el más espectacular de todos ellos.
