It is known as the capital of the Snowy Mountains, and was the headquarters of the Snowy Mountains Scheme from 1949. Cooma Court House is located on Vale Street. It is an impressive historical building, which was completed in 1889. Cooma has a small regional airport 15 kilometers outside of town. It can also be reached by bus with New South Wales country link buses running between Cooma and Canberra daily.

20190929 Flight YSCN YJIN YMRY YSCN Final
Today (29/09/2019) Sunday we departed from Camden airport for a joy flight to the snowy mountains in NSW Australia.
The captain Justin Van Hulsen lodge his IFR plan and we left around 10.00. We also had on board Julian Montiel, Joe (Justin Dad) and Myself.
We took a Cessna 182 (VH-BXO) with a Garmin 100 from Curtis Aviation at Camden Airport, NSW
We flew through Cooma airport at the altitude of 10000 feet and the external temperature was -2'C.
The day was perfect, sunny with around 20'C at ground level, but this change soon after we departed Jindabyne as you will see later.
We arrived at Jindabyne around 11.35, we got a cab and headed towards the closes pub (Banjo Paterson at Jinbdabyne) for a bite .
Soon after we returned to Jindabyne airport and we headed to the snowy mountains.
Our new IFR flight plan was lodge which included the snowy mountains and flying to Moruya.
We flew through the Kosciuszcko National park and Perisher ski fields. NSW Australia
As we left the snowy field we notice that our sunny beautiful day was turning into a cloudy grey day.
On arrival to Moruya it was clearly noticeable that rain was on its way us, so after a well deserve toilet and drink brake we decided to head back home (Camden Airport).
A new Flight plan was lodge and headed back home IFR.
We flew through clouds for approximately 10 minutes and then on top of then to almost Bargo.
On arrival to Camden it was nice to see again a clear blue afternoon sky.
The day was fantastic. We saw blue, grey and raining skies. We saw the green field, mountains and beaches of NSW Australia.
We had a good lunch at Jindabyne accompanied by great Friends.
We flew for almost 5 hours which in reality felt like 5 minutes.
Justin was so kind keep us inform at every moment and he was constantly given us a tour of every location through the sky.
I like to thank Justin, Julian and Joe for this great day, I hope to do this very soon
