What to do in Puerto Jimenez, Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica
Puerto Jimenez, a small town located on Osa Peninsula, in the South Pacific tip of Costa Rica, serves as the main gateway to Corcovado National Park, the primary attraction of the region. While most people visit Osa Peninsula for the sole purpose of trekking in Corcovado, the town itself and the area surrounding it offers much more to those willing to hang around for a few extra days.
In this Episode, we share the highlights of our stay in Puerto Jimenez, including an amazing kayaking adventure on Golfo Dulce with Aventura Tropicales, a night tour with Ficus Tours and some awesome drone footage of the secluded Playa Platanares.

Hiking and wildlife in Corcovado National Park, Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica
Located in Osa Peninsula in South Pacific Costa Rica, Corcovado National Park is known as one of the most biodiverse places on earth. A place where jaguars still run wild, where scarlet macaws soar above the treelines, where sloths and coatis share the trees, and where the roar of the howler monkeys permeates through the rainforest. This is Corcovado National Park, the star attraction of the Osa Peninsula and the best place to hike and spot wildlife in Costa Rica.
Big thanks to Corcovado Info Centre ( for taking care of us on an overnight trip inside the park!

CORCOVADO NATIONAL PARK TOUR GUIDE - DAILY TRAVEL VLOG #160
(σ゚∀゚)σ Costa Rica video
This is a survival adventure in Corcovado National Park where we go after sleeping in Puerto Jimenez; this is going to be an extreme experience, especially for me as I'm not used to walking so much.
We are doing a three-day tour with a guide as it's mandatory to enter the park with a guide. This is our first day of hiking Corcovado in Costa Rica, and we will be sleeping in La Sirena ranger station. We entered from La Leona, and after walking 20 kilometers, we arrived at the main station.
If you like traveling you can check our other travel videos and guides:
Corcovado to Puerto Jimenez
We had a great time visiting La Leona station in Corcovado, now it's time to visit Puerto Jimenez, our hotel room is in the middle of the jungle and the sound of the cicadas is super loud.

Costa Rica Osa Peninsula Corcovado OVERVIEW U Should GO!
#CostaRica #OsaPeninsula #Corcovado
The Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica is one of my favorite places to visit, including the world famous Corcovado National Park. The Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica is where nature goes to see itself in all its amazing beauty. In the Osa (Corovado area) of Costa Rica you have the BEST of both worlds- the wildness of the jungle bordered by the awe of the Pacific Ocean. Everything is down in the Osa Peninsula- 4 species of monkeys, ocelots, margays, pumas and if you're going to see a jaguar, you going to see it at the Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica. Macaws, and about another million species of birds and of course all the other animals that call Costa Rica home. Then of course you have the Pacific Ocean and Golfo Dulce with the spinner dolphins, humpback whales (seasonal) and some of the best deep sea fishing anywhere. The Osa Peninsula is the wild, wild west of Costa Rica. Not necessarily for everyone but if you are an adventurer/hiker, explorer, love all the different types of flora and fauna then the Osa and the Corcovado National Park is for you.
This video- Costa Rica, Osa Peninsula, Corcovado OVERVIEW Who Should Go? is exactly what it says, an overview of the area. Where is Corcovado? How do you get to the Osa Peninsula? Who should visit the Osa Peninsula as well as who shouldn't lol. Also in the video are a few travel tips for the area and our recommendation of a place you can stay 'Corcovado Adventures Tent Camp'. Obviously not the only game in town, but we loved it.

The amazing Corcovado National Park is located in the Peninsula of Osa between the Pacific and the Golfo Dulce in Costa Rica.
It is probably the wildest National Park we visited during our trip and exceeded our expectations. The multitude of fauna is impressive. The guided tours start very early in the morning and knowledgeable guides point out the animals and the vegetation this park has to offer.

Frog TV Episode 10 - Osa Peninsula Area
Welcome to frog tv - I'm Adam baker.
This week I'm introducing one of the most Bio-Intense places on earth, as stated by National Geographic. It is Costa Rica's Osa Peninsula. Here you'll find a world of wildlife, nature and top eco-lodges that are truly magical and all of them are minutes away from the Corcovado National Park.
THIS - really - is Costa Rica!
Costa Rica's Osa Peninsula is found in the South East of the country. It's best reached via a short 45 minute domestic flight from San Jose into one of three local airports found in the area.
Puerto Jimenez is the main town on the Osa Peninsula and has a population of just 2,000 inhabitants. This area used to be famous for it's gold mining back in the 1960's but has since become 'the most biologically intense place on Earth'. Here you can find at least half of all species living in Costa Rica, making this region a must for wildlife enthusiasts.
This area of rare lowland rainforest enjoys a tropical climate all year round, and receives plenty of rainfall from August to September.
In October 1975, what is now widely considered the crown jewel in the extensive system of national parks and biological reserves - was established: The Corcovado National Park.
The Park covers a third of the Osa Peninsula, and is home to a vast array of wildlife including: the popular two and three-toed sloth, many colourful toucans, exotic species of dart frog, all four species of monkey found in Costa Rica, the puma and jaguar, as well as anteaters, coatis, ocelots, otters and crocs. - To name but a few...
To match the wildlife there is a great many tours to choose from, most of which can be organised from the hotels and lodges in the area. You can select from nature hikes to whale watching, snorkeling trips to scuba diving out at the Isla del Caño reserve. In these protected waters you can expect to see some amazing marine life from humpback whales, turtles, dolphins and much, much more.
The accommodation in the area encompsses nature retreats to true luxury, eco-resorts. The remote nature of the region makes for some of the most unique lodging in all of Costa Rica, run by owners who live and breathe sustainable tourism.
The Aguila de Osa Inn is found just outside the town of Drake Bay to the west of the National Park. All your meals are included in this family friendly eco-lodge as well as some great day tours that leave straight from the hotel.
Here you will find the best dive shop in the area.
Copa de Arbol is a relatively new luxury, boutique hotel that opened in 2012. This romantic, jungle treehouse hotel offers great ocean views. All your meals are freshly prepared and included in your stay.
Spacious, air-conditioned cabins are great for families or couples looking to get a true off the beaten path experience.
If you're looking for a true nature experience then the Lapa Rios Ecolodge is widely considered to be the best eco-lodge in Costa Rica. Here you'll enjoy freshly prepared meals included in your stay, a great selection of tours that take you around the protected reserve and teach about the conservation efforts of Lapa Rios.
Each of the 16 bungalows offer exquisite rainforest and ocean views. They are ideal for couples looking to experience Corcovado's wonderful wildlife first hand.
So there we go, one Costa Rica's 'Lushest' locations, and even that is an understatement!
Catch me next time for more info on everything Costa Rica!
For Frog TV I'm Adam Baker,
Hasta la proxima.

Corcavado National Park - Costa Rica
A trip I took to Costa Rica in December 2012. I visited San Jose, Golfito, Puerto Jimenez, and went hiking in Corcavado National Park.
Costa Rica Adventures: Corcovado
The Osa Peninsula is where we finished our trip in Costa Rica. This peninsula in the southwest corner of the country is home to miles of beautiful jungle and wilderness. It includes the Corcovado National Park, beautiful beaches, and a ton of diverse wildlife. We spent two days here. On our second day we hired a guide to help us explore the best of Corcovado.
