Corrin Hill Fermoy Travel With PhotoClub7910.com Around Ireland
This trail provides walkers with some impressive views south from Fermoy across the Golden Vale and north over the town. Corrin Hill is a steep hill climbing to 250 metres, isolated in fertile lowlands to the south. The view from the lofty heights near the Cairn and High Cross on top of the hill, to the broad agricultural plains and teeming traffic on the new M8 motorway in the distance below, gives perspective from the isolation above.
From the old Cork road below, follow the steep road climb and park in the forest car-park. The trail starts at this point and leaves the car-park through the barrier at the entrance to the forest. In from the barrier about 150 metres, the road divides and can be followed in either direction should you be taking in the full loop of 4.5 kms. If you want to go directly to the viewing point at the Cairn and High Cross at the top of Corrin hill, take the road to the left and follow the Stations of the Cross all the way to the top.
If you intend to take the full loop, you should take the road to the right as this direction provides the best views along the walk. The walk is mainly along quiet forest roads but a new section of trail has been opened on the northern side of the hill through a mature Beech woodland, providing shade and shelter in contrast to the open areas over much of the trail. Look out for signal signs along the way pointing out some of the local cultural and natural features.

Corrin Woods (If you go down to the woods today) Fermoy, Co. Cork, Ireland
A video filmed in a remote location within Corrin Woods, near Fermoy, Co. Cork, Southern Ireland. The video was filmed, edited & produced by myself, Jim Owers. The area within the woods where I filmed this video is infrequently used by visitors and was an exceptional location for what I had in mind.
The overlay soundtrack 'Virtual Adventure' on the clip is courtesy of Red Storm Productions & is not owned by me.

Corrin Hill and Woods - The place I call home
The visit to Fermoy never fails to be impressed by the hill of Corrin- a great, rounded hump on the southern skyline, crowned by an immense heap of stones (a cairn) and by a massive stone cross that can be seen for miles around.
