Balmaclellan (Scottish Gaelic: Baile MhicIllFhaolain, meaning town of the MacLellans) is a small hillside village of stone houses with slate roofs in a fold of the Galloway hills in south-west Scotland. To the west, across the Ken River, the larger and more prosperous New Galloway lies below the Rhinns of Kells.

Road Hell - A75 By-Pass Campaign
The residents of Springholm and Crocketford in Scotland are campaigning for a By-Pass to be built to take away the blight they suffer of noise, pollution and safety concerns caused by almost constant heavy traffic passing through their villages both day and night.
The A75 is a major freight carrying trunk road used by transporters and cars from the Port at Stranraer (connecting to Ireland) through to Gretna and England.
