Costa Rica Crocodile Tours Jaco and Costa Rica Birdwatching Tours offers a tour specially designed for adventurers and bird watchers, yet safe for the whole family. The adventure takes place on the Tárcoles River, one of four rivers flowing out into the Nicoya Peninsula, and home to one of the world's largest crocodile populations in the wild with individuals up to fifteen feet long.
In addition to the crocodiles, over fifty different kinds of birds can be seen on site, including the very rare scarlet macaw and a great variety of resident and migrant waterfowl. Iguanas and Jesus Cristo lizards are very common as well.osta Rica Crocodile Tour Jaco Beach.
The Tárcoles River, also called the Grande de Tárcoles River or the Río Grande de Tarcoles, in Costa Rica originates on the southern slopes of the Cordillera Central volcanic range and flows in a south-westerly direction to the Gulf of Nicoya. The river is 111 km long and its watershed covers an area of 2,121 km², which encompasses around 50% of the country's population.[citation needed]
The river is the most contaminated river in Costa Rica, carrying much of the sewage from the central towns and cities. The river's watershed drains approximately 67% of Costa Rica's untreated organic and industrial waste and is considered the most contaminated river basin in the country.[1] It was also affected by a leak of 400 thousand litres of diesel fuel by the state-owned Costa Rican Petroleum Refinery in 2000 which further damaged the ecology of the river and its immediate surroundings

Quepos - CRS Tours Costa Rica
Like some of Costa Rica's natural attractions, Manuel Antonio also has it's own town named Quepos. It's a very small flat area surrounded by little hills, formerly a wetland, many years ago it was covered with large extensions of mangrove forest, which was all cleared off as a way to turn it into a human settlement as it is now.
Today, Quepos has lots of small tourist like stores and boutiques where skilled craftsman display their goods. There are also a variety of excellent sea food restaurants which offer sophisticated arrangements of the catch of the day dishes. A small marina besides the pier offers a choice of fishing or day trip rentals.
