Verkannte Schönheit - Sierra Leone
Reist man nach Westafrika, dann kann ein Land wie Sierra Leone zu einem wunderbaren Reiseziel werden. An der Atlantikküste gelegen, kann der Urlauber hier schöne Badefreuden, u. a. auf Turtle Island erwarten, aber es können auch Städte mit dem besonderen afrikanischen Flair wie die Hauptstadt des Landes Freetown sowie Kenema, Makeni und Bo besucht werden.
Die Küste von Sierra Leone - wunderbare Sandstrände und unbeschreibliche Badefreuden auf Turtle Island
Besieht man sich die afrikanischen Küstenregionen, dann kann man hier die bezauberndsten Sandstrände besuchen. So kann der Urlauber hier dem Wassersport frönen, und ob man nun nur schwimmen möchte oder doch mal beim Tauchen die Unterwasserwelt vor der Küste erkunden will, im Atlantik kann jeder Urlauber unvergessliche Stunden verbringen. Nun wird eine Fahrt mit dem Segelboot vor dieser Küste zum wunderbaren Erlebnis, wenn man sich einfach vom Wind treiben lässt und die Naturschönheiten der Küstenregion von Sierra Leone betrachten kann.
Lumley Beach oder River Nr. 2 Beach, hat man hier eine Hütte gemietet, dann kann man sich auf erholsame Tage freuen. Ein Highlight dieser Strände ist es aber, dass hier die Einheimischen so gastfreundlich sind und Fremde gerne an ihrem Leben teilhaben lassen.
Unvergleichliche Inseln wie Turtle Island warten hier auf den Urlauber und wer gerne die besten Orte für tolle Wassersportarten finden möchte, der wird an den Stränden von Turtle Island fündig werden. Ebenfalls vor den Küsten von Freetown findet der Urlauber neben Turtle Island auch die schönen Banana Islands und hier freut sich der Wassersportler über die besten Möglichkeiten, um Schnorcheln und Tauchen zu gehen, wobei man beim Tauchen exotische Unterwasserwelten von einmaliger Schönheit entdecken kann.
Der Bintumani - eine sportliche Sehenswürdigkeit
Hat man die schönsten Tage an den Stränden der Turtle Island in der Nähe von Freetown verbracht, dann sollte man von Freetown aus zu den Loma Mountains reisen, denn hier kann die Besteigung des Bintunami, des höchstens Bergs des Landes zum tollen Erlebnis werden. Ein überwältigender Panoramablick kann als Belohnung für die Mühen der Besteigung entschädigen und kann man noch die schönsten Landschaftsbilder von Sierra Leone machen.
Zurück in Freetown sollte man erst einmal die schönsten Sehenswürdigkeiten dieser Stadt erkunden und hier kann der Cotton Tree zum tollen Motiv für ein Urlaubsfoto werden. Auch das Sierra Leone National Museum oder der Oberste Gerichtshof laden zu einem Besuch ein. Natürlich sind auch die Kirchen der Stadt beliebte Sehenswürdigkeiten und wer Freetown besucht, der sollte auch mal zum Hafen gehen, wo afrikanische Geschäftigkeit auf den Urlauber wartet.
Sierra Leone - Westafrika von seiner schönsten Seite
Natürlich hat der Urlauber schon auf Turtle Island die außergewöhnliche Natur in Sierra Leone gesehen, aber auch außerhalb der Küstenregion kann dieses Land mit Naturschönheit aufwarten. So kann man schon in den Hügeln vor Freetown das Aufzugs- und Schutzgebiet für Schimpansen Tacugama besichtigen, aber auch der Outamba Kilimi Nationalpark ist sehenswert, denn hier leben die letzten Zwergflusspferde dieser Erde.
Immer wieder kann der Urlauber jetzt die typische Küche dieses westafrikanischen Landes probieren, wobei man stets auch Reis zum Essen erhalten wird und viele Urlauber schätzen hier besonders so manche Kaffee Rarität, die Kaffeekenner in aller Welt als Exporte aus Sierra Leone so lieben.

The Cotton Tree Song (From The Album: The World As One by Frankie Jahloh)
The Freetown Cotton Tree is arguably Sierra Leone's best known iconic symbol. It has been standing for over 500 years! For me, its enduring presence is a very powerful one and must be celebrated! This video focuses on this amazing historic tree right in the centre of Freetown. On the music track, you will hear Sierra Leonean guitarist Frankie Jahloh play in a relaxed style full of George Benson-like octave jazzy phrases matched by hot ensemble lines, a funky horn section and with some vocals by the man himself. This is an alternate mix of The Cotton Tree Song featured on my new album titled Frankie Jahloh - The World As One. Enjoy!

In Sierra Leone in May 2015, a joint visit to Cotton Tree Island (Port Loko district) was conducted by UNICEF and WHO to reinforce the messages on Ebola and to trace outsiders and travelers coming from hotspot areas. UNICEF held a community engagement meeting focusing on safe and dignified burials and the importance of calling 117 for any EVD symptoms.

On the waterfront is the King’s Yard Gate, through which former slaves walked to freedom. The Sierra Leone National Museum includes exhibits relating to the 19th-century military leader Bai Bureh.

On 3rd Dec. 2015, the China & Africa Cooperation Forum & the Sixth ministerial conference was held in South Africa. 50 Africa member state presidents, government leaders & representatives together with the African Union Committee leaders attended the meeting, to cooperate with the signing ceremony of the Sierra Leone terminal renovation & extension project in Tidfore.
In the meeting, the representatives of Chinese and African governments signed 22 items of cooperating agreements, which involve multi-industries like infrastructure, chemical industry and finance. This project is an important achievement of our company in the infrastructure construction planned by both Chinese & African government, which is with a total sales amount of 0.708 billion dollars
